Dark ruby, clear, big frothy beige bit orangey head, some lacing
Aroma of sweet dense caramel malts, touch of toffee, soft alcohol, bit spicy, soft alcohol soaked fruits
Taste of sweet caramel, slight liquorice, some sweet toffee, burnt sugars, slight orange, resin, bit of varnish, alcohol soaked bit spicy fruits, quite boozy, some very bitter dry zest that’s more prominent in the finish. Not all that keen on the flavour.
Palate - soft carb, full body, oily, sweet sticky palate. Finish as main flavour, lots of warming booze, drying bitter alcohol and some sweet caramel sugars in the long tail
Overall - Alcohol not hidden in this one, maybe the taste lacks some complexity...tastes like a barley wine to me
Peach, plum, grape jelly, sherry, burnt caramel, honey, dried papaya. Pretty solid but leaning more towards barleywine than quad in feel. flip_soeperman (881) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 18, 2014
Aroma is rich with fruity belgian esters and some caramel. Beautiful red beer with huge tan head. Sweet thick viscous beer, almost like a barley wine. Little plum character. Medium to full bodied. Very nice, but not too hoppy beer.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a hazed dark orangish brown appearance with a bubbly brown head. Brown sugar and toffee in the nose with some dark fruit notes (plums, figs) and some herbal notes as well. Kind of spicy yeast in the aroma. Pretty boozy flavor. Flavor is like a burnt sugar cookie with raisins. Pretty sugary sweet. Lots of dark fruit flavors. Some chocolate as well. A touch of smoke. Slightly oxidized. Finishes pretty strong. I’ve been pretty impressed with To Øl of late, but this was just a bit too much for my liking. aenima (335) - Askim, SWEDEN - MAY 5, 2014
Aroma of plums, raisins and figs. The taste is similar with a little taste of honey. Some esters in the aroma and taste too. Sweet finish! Nice! ClubGonzo (5683) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 2, 2014
On tap @ Ørsted Ølbar, Copenhagen. Pours a murky light mahogany bidy with a large off-white head. Nose is caramel, toffee, candi sugar, coca cola and hints of burnt sugar and mild grains. Taste is candi sugars, caramel, burnt sugar and hints of bitter herbs. Full body, high carbonation. Like an American barley wine more than a quadrupel, but nice enough. jmgreenuk (10339) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - APR 28, 2014
