330ml bottle. Murky, dark copper-ish brown colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, sulphureous head. Sweet-ish caramel malty aroma with a touch of toffee and almond, brown sugar, hints of dried fruit. Taste is similarly sweet malty, fruity, notes of brown sugar and dried fruit, raisin and the like. Smooth, harmonious, more monolithic compound than serial component aggregate. drpimento (3570) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 30, 2016
Really good quad. Tastes a bit oaky, yet balanced. Alcohol is well hidden. DavoleBomb (1867) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 12, 2016
Received in a snifter from tap.
3.25 A: Murky copper color. Came without a head.
3.0 S: This doesn’t smell like a quad at all. Dense, barleywine-style maltiness. Hefty dose of caramel with notes of toffee. Raisin and prune fruitiness. Surprisingly hoppy with plenty of citrus.
3.25 T: Again, this isn’t a quad. It’s a freaking BW. Heavy caramel, plum, raisin, prune fruits. Lacking much of the subtleness found in a good quad. Heavy hitting bready/grainy maltiness.
3.25 M: Heavy body. Syrupy dense. Good moderate carbonation.
3.25 D: I was excited about ordering a quad. I didn’t get one. This wasn’t bad, but not what I wanted.
Aroma of caramel malt, toffee, light and dark stone fruit with milder dried dark fruit, sweet and rich; . Flavor is dominated by caramel malt and light stone fruit, complex and intense like a mixed fruit syrup, light dried fruit, sherry, coriander and clove which give a peppery mild bitterness. Thick bodied and creamy. A big, sweet caramel malt bomb with complex fruit flavors. Like the aroma the flavor profile reminded me more of an English barley wine than a quadrupel, except there was distinct Belgian spicing. Not for the sweet averse, but I enjoyed this immensely. Wish I had gotten another for cellaring. On the market in my area for a nanosecond (despite its aggressive price), so glad I got one.

Bottiglia 33cl Bruna, torbida, schiuma nocciola poco persistente. Aromi intensi di malto, con sentori di frutta secca, caffè, alcol quasi vinoso. Ancora maltata al gusto ma morbida con sentori di nocciola, punte etiliche con un bel finale secco luppolato, erbaceo. Media carbonatazione, corposa. Ben equilibrata e strutturata TheCametron (2480) - CZECH REPUBLIC - NOV 29, 2015
Keg at Beergeek. Pours Deep Amber with a White-ish head. Aroma of caramel and booze. Flavour has plenty of toffee/caramel sweetness and only thinly disguised alcohol. Big bitterness too. Nice though. Desverger (11091) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 1, 2015
