Poured dark reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is musty, dark fruit and toasted malt. Full body, flavour is meaty berries, roast malt.

Tap at Uiltje bar. Reddish brown with off white head. Massive sweet malts, dried stone fruits, very herbal, palm sugar. Very sweet going into a strong bitter finish. Grapefruit peel and marmelade. Full bodied with quite some alcohol presence.

Zapach to głwnie suszone owoce - morele, słodki, słodowy. Piwo jest potężne, bardzo gęste i słodkie, zaklejające usta. Mimo to nie odpycha. Końcwka wyraźnie alkoholowa, lekko gryząca w gardło i rozgrzewająca. Tak smakuje słodowy likier! Genialny trunek.

Draft at Mikkeller & Friends. Pours amber with a small beige. Aroma has some bread and malts. Taste is sweet with bread and some brown sugar and malts. Palate is quiet full and tasteful. Overall an okay beer, tasteful and sweet, though not very special.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2015 Botella. Color marrn rojizo. Espuma beige de formacin media y persistencia media. Huele herbal, a resina vieja, a caramelo, a chocolate, a vainilla, a azcar moreno, alcohol, levadura, pan integral, madera. En boca es densa y dulce en la q se pueden apreciar los aromas en nariz con un toke mas a fruta madura y madera, donde para mi el chocolate negro manda, tienen cierta acidez tb aunque se mantiene en niveles bajos...el final tiende a ser amargo lupudado, a levadura y chocolate negro. El alcohol bien camuflado y la carbonatacion es media.Una buena Birra sin duda.

Bottle. Aroma rich malty, biscuity, honey, dried fruits. Almost clear brown colour. Taste is warming, alcohol showing through. Other than that, dried fruits, rich malty flavour. Bitterness apparent, but from the background. Good one, but stays there.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2015 Bottle at T L tasting at RJ. Dark amber color with medium off-white head. Caramel, some fruits, light hops in aroma. Sweet caramel taste with light fruits, alcoholic bitterness in finish.

Aroma of malt, caramel, raisins, ripe dark fruits, fudge, some brown sugar, hops. Flavour is medium sweet with a moderate to medium bittersweet finish. Only a hint of alcohol, this beer manages to hide its high ABV pretty well. More like a Barley Wine than a Quad, and a good Barley Wine at that.

This is actually a take on Quandrupel that I was waiting for. American hops, high gravity and Belgian Abbey yeast. Not sure its still a Quad but dont care much because the beer is good. Malts on their own arent top, they remind me strong caramel, nail polish and dried fruits. Something like Urthel Samaranth. But the hops, a bit of banana and thick texture make it more exciting. Enough to please me.

(330ml bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linkping, Jan 23 2014) Pours a slightly cloudy red-brown color with a big off white head that lingers with lace. Aroma has lots of sweet sticky caramel malts and prunes, berries, a little woody, burnt sugar, there is spicy yeast in the background and maybe a bit herbal? The palate is caramel forward as expected with dried fruit and candy sugar, a little burnt maybe, kind of resinous fruitiness and herbal quality to the finish. Some yeast character in the background. Quite a bit of booze heat that counteracts the lingering caramel sweetness a bit. Medium but sticky sort of mouthfeel with moderate carb. Somewhere between a barley wine and a quad, and maybe a little bit unbalanced due to that style confusion. Drinks pretty well if slightly rough and hot.
