The great warrior of Gath. The mighty champion of the Philistines. Embedded in ancient folklore and religion. Coming from the World of Old. His size and stature is not human. He is bigger. The armor of Goliat is black. Creamy black lacings. Stands with a towering height. He can grab elements from both earth and heaven. Earthy, roasted, notes from the earth. Warming, pungent, sweet notes from the skies. His heart is beating slowly, almost endlessly slow. This man is thought to be invincible!

Ingredients: Water, barley malt, roasted barley, dark cassonade sugar, flaked oats, hops, gourmet coffee and yeast.

Draft at The Happy Raven, Lincoln, Nebraska. The coffee is bold lingering for days. Deep dark chocolate, deep ash. The body is full and creamy with a smooth Velvet mouthfeel. Very nice construction of this imperial stout.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

W zapachu z butelki kawa, sos sojowy. Piana wysoka, drobna, jasnobrązowa. W barwie piwo czarne, całkowicie nieprzejrzyste. W aromacie ze szkła intensywna świeżo parzona kawa, paloność, rodzynki, śliwka suszona, sos sojowy, maggi. W smaku paloność, słodycz, rodzynki, kawowa kwaskowość. Intensywna goryczka - i chmielowa i palona. Długi posmak. W odczuciu pełne, ciężkie. Lekki alkohol - grzejący, miły.

0.375 bottle. Black in color with a small, thick, creamy, tanned head. Strong aroma of coffee, roasted malts, hints of lactose, some earthy tones, toffee, and vanilla - an amazing combination. Taste is obviously strongly marked by coffee but it does not entirely dominate the sensation like in most beers with this adjunct. The taste is replete with dark fruits, chocolate, some gingerbread, a bit of nuts too. A full body, a thick texture, and an almost flat carbonation. Finish is long, fruitier than the rest and definitely sweet. Overall, the beer is marvelous, its richness and complexity stand out from the crowd of imperial stouts whose brewers thought that dumping a bag of coffee into the tank would somehow be beneficial. Instead, although noticeable, coffee does not necessarily play the first fiddle here and a few other players come to the fore.

Keg at Usher’s. Black body with a dense tan head. Excellent lacing. Aroma of espresso, raisins and dark chocolate. Flavour of chocolate ice-cream, nuts, roasted malt and coffee. Medium body with a powdery mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Sumptuous.

Heavy aroma of malts, caramel, dark fruit, liquorice, chocolate, molasses, mocha, roasted malts and coffee.

Opaque black beer with slight yeast and with a medium dark brown head.

Starts heavy sweet with malts, caramel, dark fruit, liquorice, chocolate, molasses and mocha; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts and coffee.

This beer is intense, complex and balanced. What a great beer with loads of flavour. The key is to not take a full sip, because that would make the beer way too sweet. Amazing appearance and palate; and the aroma and taste are only slightly behind.

Good roasty coffee aroma with some lactose sweetness and booze. Jet black color with a huge fluffy head of brown foam. Cappuccino coffee flavor with plenty of sweetness to cut the bitterness. Very well balanced and drinkable. The palate is silky and just thick enough. This is a great offering from a Brewer that I need to try more from. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Wright Bros. brew and brew. Pours opaque black with minimal head. Taste is coffee forward with quite a bit of sweetness. Really nice find!
