COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The great warrior of Gath. The mighty champion of the Philistines. Embedded in ancient folklore and religion. Coming from the World of Old. His size and stature is not human. He is bigger. The armor of Goliat is black. Creamy black lacings. Stands with a towering height. He can grab elements from both earth and heaven. Earthy, roasted, notes from the earth. Warming, pungent, sweet notes from the skies. His heart is beating slowly, almost endlessly slow. This man is thought to be invincible!

Ingredients: Water, barley malt, roasted barley, dark cassonade sugar, flaked oats, hops, gourmet coffee and yeast.

Amazing beer. Had on tap at Jester king and this killed all of their offerings. Aroma is blend of coffee Imp stout and hint of old ale in stone fruits and vinous-ness. Appearance is BLACK with a nice tan big head which really brings the aromas right to your nasal doorstep. Taste is nose but the coffee bitterness swaps places with the old ale influences making it a kind of old ale Imp stout with hints of coffee. Palate is thick and wonderful. A great beer.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2016 On tap. Jet black with medium brown head and very good lacing. Very strong and very solid aromas of coffee, little bit chocolate and some very light notes of roasted malts. Almost full body, sweet start with some roasted malts in taste, pleasant and silky mouth feel and light bitter finish - bitterness could be stronger. Very well balanced, only light alcohol warming. Amazing stuff!!!

Draught @ Mikkeller Bangkok. Inky black with small foamy tan head, sharp coffee beans aroma, medium carbonation, mocha-oatmeal taste with slight alcohol undertones, thick body, longish mocha finish. Very well balanced imperial stout, the high alcohol content is mostly unnoticeable.

Bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver
Impenetrable black color with generous persistent brown head. The aroma reveals heavily roasted coffee and bread crust, I fear ashes. Liquid dark chocolate flows on the tongue like silk, the moderate sweetness and espresso complement it to perfection, while the alcohol and roastiness add to the balance in the final. Very close to the coffee filled chocolates called Pocket Coffee.
Here I am, sitting in Vancouver, and I can’t help but thinking how the Danish/Belgian are still parsecs away when it’s about brewing a solid Imperial Stout.
Delicious.

Black with a deep brown hue and a tan head. Good viscous lacings. Aromas of chocolate malts, caramel and coffee predominate with subtle hints of earthy, roasted malts and some herbal note develop. Fine carbonation slick-creamy and viscous with a full body. Sweet with a light roast bitterness. Lasting finish makes you wonder to get drunk due to the abv or hyperactive due to the coffee. Eitherway good job!

Bottle at home. Black/brown with frothier head. Nose gets black coffee bean, milk chocolate, caramel, lactose. Taste is smooth. Not too bitter. Mellow milk chocolate coffee with dark roasty malt flavors. Medium heavy body. Easy drinker for 10+abv. Really good coffee forward stout. Simple and straight forward. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Well, To Øl seems to have come up with the perfect name for its huge, coffee-infused Imperial Stout. Charred barley and earthy roasted coffee aromas. Despite the big espresso-like aroma, Goliat’s flavors are actually pretty approachable. There is a bitter coffee note, but it’s quickly followed by a creaminess that compares to cappuccino and chocolate. In an afternoon with several Scandinavian Imperial Stouts this was one of my favorite.

P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Choke full of heavy espresso and burnt sugars. Almost a little too sweet at points. Nonetheless a solid beer.
