COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The great warrior of Gath. The mighty champion of the Philistines. Embedded in ancient folklore and religion. Coming from the World of Old. His size and stature is not human. He is bigger. The armor of Goliat is black. Creamy black lacings. Stands with a towering height. He can grab elements from both earth and heaven. Earthy, roasted, notes from the earth. Warming, pungent, sweet notes from the skies. His heart is beating slowly, almost endlessly slow. This man is thought to be invincible!

Ingredients: Water, barley malt, roasted barley, dark cassonade sugar, flaked oats, hops, gourmet coffee and yeast.

Black pour with a thickish brown head.Roasty, burnt brown sugar, coffee, cocoa. Sweet up front, then a beefy, roasty kick, cocoa, raisin, coffee. Finishes dry, slight coffee bitterness. Awesome.

Poured into a teku glass showing pitch black with half a finger of coffee foam that also lines the glass as I swirl. Abundant aromas of cacao and fresh roasted coffee beans with hints of caramel and toffee. Faint notes of molasses. Medium bodied, smooth, and evenly carbonated. The first impression shows cacao nibs or chocolate shavings. Then a mid palate of slight alcohol burn followed by a moderately strong coffee bitterness. The bitterness seems to be balanced out by the casconade sugar as it doesnt overwhelm. More importantly, the sugar still keeps this big stout dry and clean - there is no excessive bitterness. As such, no note is out of place and plays a wonderful number on the palate.

Bottle. Black, medium brown head. Aroma freshly ground coffee. Full body. Taste chocolate, malts. Somewhat hoppy finish, interesting in a stout. Very complex and nice overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From old notes. First time I had this was from tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. I had it again some times from tap and from bottle. Black color with brown head. Roasted malty aroma, lot of coffee, some chocolate, light dark fruits. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma, with vanilla and mocha notes. Full creamy body with soft carbonation.

Originally rated on 12/21/14. A dark brown pour yields a 1+ finger, bubbly, dark tan head with good retention. Black body with lower levels of carbonation. Aromas of roasted grain, dark chocolate, coffee, sweet cream and caramel, some oats as well. Flavors of roasted notes, coffee and oats up front. Lots of flavor for sure. Big finish of roasted grain, roasted coffee beans, oats, sweet cream and bitter dark chocolate. Good oats and roasted bitterness here, with coffee and dark chocolate rounding it out. Nice. Medium body and medium levels of carbonation.Overall this is really good, well worth checking out, recommended.

Rich coffee, heavy roastiness, licorice alcohol, chocolate. Black colour, small head. Big bite, noticably sweet, salty, rich and rewarding, fullbodied, soft carbonation. Great.
