Bottle at home. Three year old bottle. Pours a dark brown to black colour with a big thick light brown head. Aroma of chocolate truffles, coffee beans, oak, nuts, rye bread and some smoke. Compact flavor of dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, ash and ends grassy and little spicy. Has a rich and soft mouth feel, full-bodied and a medium to heavy bitterness. A well roasted and flavorful IS. Sweet aroma and rather bitter taste.

Tap at Erzbierschof Zurich. Pours pitch black with a little beige head. Aroma is chocolate, booze, mint, caramel. Body is heavy and strong, very very sweet and sugary throughout, with a lightly burning chili spiciness developing, some nuts. Soft carbonation and quite smooth. Spicy sweet palate, with sugar and warming booze. Good!

Yabon !

Draught. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. and chili only kicks in at the very end (thank god). Creamy palate.

Cocoa, spicy notes, some alcohol notes, black with a good and persistant brown head, medium/full body, carbonation is very soft, cocoa, choco, with a pleasant warming in the final and a super spicy aftertaste...very pleasant beer.

Fijne evolutie. Mooi rond, romig, pikant mondgevoel met licht olie. Plakkerig, licht zoet. BALANS.

On tap @ Rockout Bar. Une belle robe foncée avec une mousse brune. Arômes sur le réglisse et la prune. Un final un peu épicé.

Bottle @Pułapka, Gdańsk

Molasses & brown sugar over sweet coffee & chocolate.Taste’s thick wt dark malts.Heavy body and very smoothly mouthfeel.Mid chili hot finish. The sweetness was intensively sugary, reminiscent of candied sugar, golden syrup and molasses. To me it was on the verge of being too sweet. Chilies came out quite fast, allowing for a slow sweet head start, then rising the mouth temperature with every second up to a long finish. Overall the sweetness is of a kind I rather dislike, yet the beer was saved by a the way chilies balanced it.Overall a very interesting brew.

Bottle 37,5cl, a dark beer with huge grown head and good retention. Nose is on roasted caramel, roasted malt and coffee, seems quite sweet. Taste is medium sweet, texture is creamy. Aroma is on dark malt, chocolate, vanilla, light vegetables touch, blond caramel. Finish is slightly peppery, that burns a long time on aftertaste, light smoked finish, very smooth and drinkable, kind of cognac finish, plum.

Rich, fat, chocolate, fresh chilly spike, medium to high sweetness but not over-saturated, still playful and highly drinkable, one of the best bases of an imperial stout.
