McNeillR (2329) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 14, 2015
Firm dark brown, with a decent ringed tan. Soft spicy apple, firm cinnamon. Initial taste is soft dark malt, orbits around a neat burnt apple roast and clean peppery grit. Carbonation is soft, welcoming and soft mouthfeel.
The ABV fades past nicely, softly sweet finish. Linger is gritty spicey apple.

Bottle, Whole Lotta Rosie Tasting

esp0r (2931) - NORWAY - MAY 14, 2015
Bottle shared with daje and ed at The "Esp0r #2000 Weekend in The Woods" 2014

Pours quite dark, thin tanned head. Smell of cognac, dark malts, roast, fruity malts, oak and coffee. Rich and complex. Heavy sweet, perfect cognac and coffee harmony, dark malts, roast, booze, oak, chocolate. A very complex and rich flavor palate. Extremely oily texture, flat carbonation full bodied, moderate bitter. An exquisite beer for sure

mathieuc (4000) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 2, 2015
UPDATED: DEC 22, 2015 Pours a really dark brown with a small beige head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of chocolate, booze, coffee and cognac. Taste is of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and no ash hopefully. Heavy coffee action and not too boozy. Body is medium-full, carbonation soft. Overall a really good sipper, less intense on the cognac than I thought it would be.

Maakun (6543) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAR 29, 2015
Shared bottle. Black with big but fast disappearing beige head. Marzipan, peach, milk chocolate, some cognac, brown sugar, quite some spices with vanilla and cinnamon. Light chili burn in the finish. Quite sweet, medium to full bodied. Nice!

stoutnick (843) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAR 24, 2015
Black oil pour, tan foam. Aroma is earthy spice, dark malts. Flavours are very sweet syrup, chilli heat, mild oak, dark fruits. Big flavours but not really very full bodied. Classic Continental impy. Very drinkable, nice level of heat, just wish there was more character here.

SinH4 (6390) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - MAR 20, 2015
Black color with beige head. Aetherial Cognac, bitter chocolate, spices. Taste is chocolate, spices, grapes, dark fruits. Leather and tobacco, a hint of liquorice. Carbonation is still high, but extremely fine. A very elegant, creamy and warming Imperial Stout. The spices are much more dominant in the BA version.
