from Erzbierschof - blackbeer with a persistent dark beige foam; roasted aroma of black chocolate, wood and cherries; full-bodied, a solid sweetness, thick, moderate carbonation and a huge bitterness; very long chocolatey finish with hints of coffee, cognac and a fair presence of wood
Aged bottle (unknown for how long) labeled as "Liquid Confidential", but I put the rating here as the bottle image looked more similar, and the bottle clearly labeled a cognac Barrel Aged. Deep inky black color with a sticky tan head. Dark earthy roasty nose with some cocoa sweetness underneath, a little roasted pepper, and a slight boozy sweetness. Flavor is much the same; layers of dark semisweet chocolate, gentle peppers, boozy woody rum-like tones, and deep darkness abound. Lingering pepper heat. tom10101 (6040) - Quebec, CANADA - JAN 30, 2017
Bottle (375 ml), shared by minderbinder thanks! Pitch black with a medium thick brown head, moderate retention, leaving little lacing. Aroma is of roasted malts, coffee notes, light pepper vanilla notes and subtle cognac fruitiness. Taste is moderately sweet with roasted malts, coffee, light peppers, vanilla, mild cognac fruitiness and alcohol. Medium-full body. Moderate carbonation. Silky mouthfeel. Roasty and gently warming finish. Impressive balance for a 12%+ abv cognac barrel-aged beer with chili peppers and nice mouthfeel as well.
BlazerT (1089) - Sosnowiec, POLAND - OCT 5, 2016
Bottle. Sensoric. Pitch black, with medium to big, light brown, densed head. Medicore head retention and lacing. Rich roasted malts aroma - mainly tons of milk chocolate, also smell is grainy, toffee-sweet, sharp woody, also slightly vanilla and cognac notes. Taste is semi-sweet, lightly bitter in the middle and . Full body, oily, thick texture, soft carbonation, finish is bitter and oaky, slightly warming in the end. This RIS is above average, nicely balanced with moderately oaky character, pretty different from the regular version - this one is not so obviously sweet. Barrell gives this beer nicely sharp character, which gives nicely balance. oh6gdx (26482) - Vasa, FINLAND - SEP 30, 2016

Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is alcohol, fruits, wood, toffee and some mild ripe fruits. Flavour is fruity, liquorice, alcohol, some wooden and mild sweetish stinging notes. Yet for most parts quite balanced.
Bottle. "Liquid Confidential" guess this is it. Put is coffee black with a medium frothy brown foam. Does not appear overly viscous. Aroma is toasty coffee malt along with faint belgian yeast, a touch of burnt brown sugar, and sweet vanilla. Flavor is sweet toasted malt, cold press coffee, Belgian yeast, and light sweet alcohol. Chili very distant. alex_leit (3705) - Minsk, BELARUS - JUL 3, 2016
Draft. Aroma: smoked and burnt, coffee, dark chocolate, brandy. Taste: sweet, port wine with coffee, cognac and chili pepper. Very good. Sammy (12105) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 23, 2016
Alex’s bottle. A little cognac flavour, but only ok on the base beer in drinkability. Higher on aroma that didn’t deliver. Fin (10478) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 5, 2016
Bottle from Beer Gonzo shop, Earlsdon, Coventry consumed at Bearded Theory Festival, South Derbyshire, Sunday 29th May 2016 *Moved my rating across as I realised when recycling the bottle today the bottle I had was this cognac version and not the standard version. Pours black with a slim tan head, not too much of a head and the carbonation is light. Thick in the mouth, warming, liquorice the chilli is subtle, very subtle. Roasty and smooth, really soft smooth almost a creamy edge. V.good. A7 A4 T8 P5 Ov16 4.0 kraddel (7871) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - APR 12, 2016
Bottle. Pours nearly black, good dark head. Smell is very grainy, dark malts. Taste is dark malts, dark Chocolate, very creamy finish. Nicely intense, don’t get much cognac at all, some Wood perhaps. Aromatic maltyness. Very good !
