Keg at BrewDog Shepherd’s Bush - London. Pours oily black with a dense, creamy brown head. The nose holds lots of dark malts, some creamy caramel, dark fruits, cocoa, hints of licorice. Hugely sweet flavor with lots of ripe dark fruit character, a bit of burnt wood, burnt toffee, earthy bitterness, gooey chocolate. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Finishes warming and sticky, with loads of burnt sugars, raisins, burnt wood, earth, dried berries, dark chocolate, faint ash. Quite a beastly number but still really tasty and dangerously drinkable. fiulijn (20411) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 28, 2015
Bottle at Pibar, LausanneBeerhunter111 (20344) - P´Castle, GERMANY - MAR 26, 2015
Black color, brown head. Mild aroma, roasted malt, some cardboard. Good body, good roasted malt and chocolate flavor, but the berry fruitiness and acidity doesn’t blend in very well.
Good and powerful, but not exceptional.
