Vintage 2015?. Pours a deep cloudy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is awesome malty goodness that verges chocolate. Add in hints vanilla, butterscotch and caramel - beautiful. The taste is just an awesome flavorful ride with smooth chocolatey overtones, caramel, molasses, vanilla - its almost candy. The barrel comes out in the finish. I know mine is at least a couple of years old. I should’ve grabbed more. Nice job on this one.

red tinged amber - definitely sweeter and fruitier than the original, not necessarily for better or worse. Alcohol is there, but doesn’t overly show for a 12%er. I liked em both.

Taboada (1427) - Compostela (Galiza), - JUL 5, 2016
Bottle sample tasted at BBF Lab Madrid 2016 on the 02/07/2016. Red amber colour with a thick off-white head. Aroma of grapes, berries, toffee and caramel. Taste is bread, malts, berries, toffee and red fruits. Medium carbonation and light hoppy finish. Next one please!

Bottle - Caramel with some cherry and orange liquor notes. Clearish copper and orange with a small white head. Sweet caramel and cherry with some fruity medicinal notes and a bit of Woody bitterness in the finish.

GothGargoyle (2587) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 22, 2016
Ruby red with a good white head. Aroma is orange liqueur, white dessert wine, orange blossom, honey. Full bodied, sweet on the palate with a balancing citrus peel bitterness. Taste is orange liqueur, citrus peel, dessert wine.

Bottle in a tulip at Split thy Skull. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of a nice barleywine aged in barrels, but I can’t taste much of the barrel because it’s too light. Smoother texture. A pretty good beer for the style.

oldrtybastrd (5003) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 6, 2016
Pours a dark amber color, with a off white head that had some lacing power. Aromas of citrus, sweet malts, and some alcohol. Flavor isn’t as sweet as I was led to believe. You can taste the alcohol from the get go, what follows is a nice mellow brown sugar (I Guess) sweetness that finishes with a nice bitter hop.

Small tan head, quickly reduced to lace. Aroma is strongly winey. Flavor has raisins, is rather sweet, with a mildly sour twist on the sticky finish. Not all that harmonious.

sarauckelman (550) - Durham, Durham, ENGLAND - JAN 3, 2016
Opaque/cloudy with little head. Strong aroma of Muscatel, and strong taste of raisins on the end. The combination of a barley wine and Muscatel is a little bit too sweet for me, though while it tastes sweet the palate is not syrupy.
