12. 7 oz bottle from the Party Source at home consumed next to the base beer. Pours a hazy reddish/orange/amber color with a thin off white head. The aroma and flavor have caramel, dark fruits, vinous character, raisins, grape skins, alcohol heat is warming as it goes down, but not overly boozy, the barreled version is much more vinous and fruity, wood, some herbal notes, figs, very good. OK, a combination of my favorite bottle format (wide ass mouthed green thick glass 37.5cl bottle) and one of my favorite breweries brewing my favorite style. Yes! Heaven. It pours with a nearly clear deep copper body that has amber hues and supports a full tan head. The aroma offers up red grapes and molasses sweetened grape skin and then prunes, raisins and dates heading into mild earthy berry rich black currants. The taste starts woody, resiny with hops and then quickly getting into a mix of earthy black currants, a dash of fruity tartness and sweet dark colored grapes. To midway mild molasses and sugary malts grow enough to be noticed as well as to provide a smooth mouth feel. Pretty tasty brew. domienS (250) - Oostakker, BELGIUM - SEP 25, 2014
Dark amber beer without saturation and light beige foam.
Smells a lot like caramel malts.
Tastes sweet and lightly malt bitter.
Mouth feel is alcohol warming.
Leaves a long malt bitter aftertaste.
Nice sampling beer to enjoy slowly. Fritz123 (1535) - Boca Raton, Florida, USA - SEP 22, 2014
Bottle shared by Dan at the Syb Pig. Small snifters. Pours a cloudy dark orange brown with a small lasting head. The aroma is sweet toffee, caramel, dark fruits, spice blends, bread, honey, biscuit. The taste is very complex as well with serious toffee and caramel, spices like nutmeg and star anise, breakfast sweet roll, nuts, and dark candy sugars. Medium to full body. Medium carbonation. Thick mouth and some oil. Very good.

375cl bottle served in a La Trappe glass. Pours a dark amber colour which glows bright red in candle light. Head is somewhat small but what little there is remains long into the drink which is ideal as this is very much a sipper and will last a long time. Aroma is hugely powerful. Caramel, toffee, dried fruits, booze, anise you name it it’s here. Taste is sweetness with all the aroma but more very, very strong although considering its ABV there is little burn. Aftertaste is oaky sweetness with minimal bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium to thick which complements the huge complexity of flavours on offer and the most powertful of aromas to challenge any beer. Best of its style I have tried. ansalon (4223) - Stockholm, SWEDEN, SWEDEN - AUG 23, 2014
