Bottle from Magasin du Nord, DK. Pours cloudy dark orange-brown with creamy beige to yellow head, medium persistence, good lacing. Nose of dark fruits, sweet grapes. Complex, intense aroma of ripe and dried fruits, plums, strong caramel, grapes, vanilla, muscatel, toffee, alcohol. Taste is very sweet, medium to low bitter, well rounded. Full bodied, smooth, syrupy palate, creamy texture. Very long sweet, moscatel and caramel finish. Absolutely fantastic! S_Side_Smitty (802) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - JUL 4, 2017
Vintage 2015?. Pours a deep cloudy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is awesome malty goodness that verges chocolate. Add in hints vanilla, butterscotch and caramel - beautiful. The taste is just an awesome flavorful ride with smooth chocolatey overtones, caramel, molasses, vanilla - its almost candy. The barrel comes out in the finish. I know mine is at least a couple of years old. I should’ve grabbed more. Nice job on this one. HerrKrinkle (196) - Montreux, SWITZERLAND - DEC 15, 2013
Without a doubt one of the best barley wines I’ve ever tasted. Incredibly well-balanced. The Muscatel aging was very clever as it helped balance the cereal flavors and ABV and bring out the sweetness. Beautiful brew. Theis (15150) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 23, 2012
