Bottle from Magasin du Nord, DK. Pours cloudy dark orange-brown with creamy beige to yellow head, medium persistence, good lacing. Nose of dark fruits, sweet grapes. Complex, intense aroma of ripe and dried fruits, plums, strong caramel, grapes, vanilla, muscatel, toffee, alcohol. Taste is very sweet, medium to low bitter, well rounded. Full bodied, smooth, syrupy palate, creamy texture. Very long sweet, moscatel and caramel finish. Absolutely fantastic! S_Side_Smitty (775) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - JUL 4, 2017
Vintage 2015?. Pours a deep cloudy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is awesome malty goodness that verges chocolate. Add in hints vanilla, butterscotch and caramel - beautiful. The taste is just an awesome flavorful ride with smooth chocolatey overtones, caramel, molasses, vanilla - its almost candy. The barrel comes out in the finish. I know mine is at least a couple of years old. I should’ve grabbed more. Nice job on this one. HerrKrinkle (11) - Montreux, SWITZERLAND - DEC 15, 2013
Without a doubt one of the best barley wines I’ve ever tasted. Incredibly well-balanced. The Muscatel aging was very clever as it helped balance the cereal flavors and ABV and bring out the sweetness. Beautiful brew. Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 23, 2012

Hazy amber with very nic, creamy, lacing tan head.
Fruity malty aroma with a sweet dessert wine-like note. Taste the same. The muscatel stronger here. Very vinous. Some vinegar-like stuff - perhaps even glue. Very sweet, sticky. Very delicious. Creamy, sweet, soft carbonation. Touch of hoppy bitterness. Lovely. Benzai (15608) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - MAR 6, 2013
Bottle shared by Joes. Clear red color, small off- white to beige head. Aroma of malts, hops, lightly alcohol and wood. Taste malts, some sweetness, lightly wine influences, alcohol, hops, fruitiness. Very nice. Full body, medium carbonation. Very nice! Sigmund (7511) - Tau, NORWAY - MAY 10, 2013
Shared 375 ml green bottle, thanks to our beerpal Ole Anders. Brown colour, moderate off-white head. Lovely aroma of Muscatel grapes and oak cask. Warming mouthfeel. The flavour is very oaky and medium sweet, distinct notes of Muscatel grapes, and it is all balanced by decent hops. A very fine beer! rodenbach99 (4572) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 26, 2013
Dark amber beer without saturation and light beige foam.
Smells a lot like caramel malts.
Tastes sweet and lightly malt bitter.
Mouth feel is alcohol warming.
Leaves a long malt bitter aftertaste.
Nice sampling beer to enjoy slowly.
