An extremely tasty BW. Aroma is on the mild side, but do pick up caramel and orange Julius. Flavor is like nose & traditional BW, very heavy bittersweet, nice complementary dose of carbonic tang and hops. Big beer. Good for slow drinkin.

37.5 cl bottle @ home. Amber beer with a smaal, off-white head, bit adhesive. Aroma is caramel, honey, quite sweet, sugary. Soft carbonation. Taste is honey, caramel, quite sweet, dried fruits. Aftertaste is sweet, sugary, alcohol, with a bitter touch.

37.5cl bottle, served in Duvel glass. Pours dark amber with medium beige head. Beautiful lacing. Aroma is caramel, ripe fruits, citrus and hints of white grape. Taste is pretty much the same, very well balanced. It worth to mention that the hop flavour is there, but not the bitterness. A lot of sweetness on the palate, so brown sugar-like, with moderate alcohol heat. Medium / full body, perfect carbonation. Well, that’s something I only drink, maybe, once a year...but I can tell it is probably the best Barley Wine I’ve had so far.

neongolden (1610) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 15, 2015
(375ml bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Oct 8 2015) Pours a hazy dark orange-red and a big lingering white head leaving lace. Aroma has a sweet caramel toffee core, orange juice, citrus pith, wet grass and light pine from the hops. On the palate it is very sweet, with orange juice concentrate, brown sugar, sweet red berries, light hop bitterness, and hints of grain on an otherwise clean finish. Light alcohol heat in the aftertaste. The body is medium full and oily with medium carbonation. The hops are present but there isn’t a ton of bitterness, more fruit that complements the sweet malts. Moderately complex, but a little too intensely sugary and cloying in anything but small portions.

ciemny bursztyn - karmel, klarowne, piana ecru, obfita, drobna, opada do cienkiej warstwy, ładna firanka;
słodki, winny, drożdżowy, iryski, rodzynki, śliwki, brzoskwinie, ale inaczej niż w belgach - bez dzikości i przyprawowości;
ciało zawiesiste, po części średnie, w większości wysokie, nasycenie bardzo niskie, gładkie, choć troszeczkę musuje na języku, finisz owocowy i winny;
bardzo słodki, cukier, lekki szlachetny alkohol, owoce, całość jakby nieprzesadnie słodka nalewka albo lekkie wino owocowe;
moje pierwsze BW bardzo mi smakuje, jest niezwykle pijalne, alkohol jedynie muska w nos i język.

Thanks Stela for sharing! :) Poured a misty red-amber body with a creamy off white head, small and persistent. Malty, slightly dusty, creamy aroma, dried fruits, just a bit too sharp dustiness here and there, otherwise pleasant. Lovely fruitiness in the taste, apricot, solid bitterness, herbal hoppiness, quite creamy, not cloying, dried fruits / heavy malt mixing with good aroma/bittering hops. Everything’s there but remarkably well balanced/integrating with very few clashes. The heavy maltiness is obvious, but the alcohol is extremely well hidden. Light, slightly bitter finish, bitter hopp aftertaste. Pretty great barleywine.

37,5cl bottle shared by Alexcg. Clear amber with an off-white head. Fairly malty with caramel, herbs, fruits and hints of wood. Fairly sweet with nice bitterness, a bit too much on the sweet side. Decent barley wine.

Arve_Christian (5114) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 1, 2015
On bottle with Alexcg. Deep golden hazy color, ok foam. Medium aroma intensity; honey, malt, some fruitiness and yeast influence. Medium/ full body & high complexity. On the sweet side. Very enjoyable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from ølbutikken caramel, hay, roasty, cereal, citrus, herbs, alcohol, brown, cloudy, white foam, heavy cloying sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, slick feel, soft carbonation, long finish, overwelming sweet. Might ned some ageing
