COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our attempt of substituting the morning mochaccino coffee with a beer. You get the nicely roasted chocolate malts, some creamy lactose for the milk and a shot of nutty espresso coffee in your mug. And then some alcohol, it seemed just as obvious as vodka in a white russian. We do not recommend opting for this beer instead of coffee (all the time...) – Original “The Monday Morning Mochaccino Messiah”

Ingredients: Water, Malted barley, flaked oats, lactose, Hops (Simcoe, Citra, Nelson Sauvin, Centennial), coffee and Yeast.

Pours a dark chestnut brown color with a 2.5 finger, frothy beige head that very slowly settles into a lasting cap/ring. The tulip is left coated with large streaks and chunks of soapy lacing. Robust coffee bean aroma with sweet and roasted malts balancing each other out. Roasted espresso/coffee bean along with dark chocolate and lactic sugar. It’s nice to come across a coffee beer that doesn’t smell like a week old used coffee filter. Some caramel, toffee and lighter chocolate balancing out the roast. Medium bodied with tight carbonation and a stronger roast presence than the aroma suggests. Lots of dry, roasted coffee bean flavor but it never becomes acrid or overbearing. Espresso like flavor with chocolate/mocha sweetness along with toast, toffee and oatmeal. Some lactic sugar sweetness but not as much as expected. Could use a bit more of that, in my opinion, to balance things out. Overall, this beer is decently balanced and easy to drink with nice coffee flavor but I didn’t find anything that elevates it above an average coffee beer.

Bottle in the Junkyard, Nottingham. Pours ruby with a nice cream frothy head. Fruity coffee aroma. The taste is plenty fruity too. Sweet with spice and red fruit and lots of coffee. Quite light bodied with high carbonation, but extremely tasty and a bit different.

Tap @ Fermentoren. Pours brown with a beige head., Aroma of coffee, chocolate, cocoa, weak bitter nuts, some slight vanilla and some caramel sweetness. The taste has some coffee, nuts, some weak hoppy nuts, cocoa and a rather funny sweet end (weak Cola-like).

Pours haze dark brown with creamy stable light brown head. Aroma without note of an alcohol and with hints of coffee, vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate and some fruits (pine, grapefruit, pinneapple, lemon). Flavor is smoothy sweet, with hints of coffee, chocolate, oat, lactose, with hints of different (tropical fruits) and with bitter finish. Malt sweetness is medium, hop bitterness is high, too high for that style, even for american style of brown ale-because of that, reminds me on black ipa style. Body is sticky, carbonation is low, finish is long lasting fruity bitter.
