(33 cl bottle from Bjergtrolden) Pours dark brown with medium, tan head and heavy lace. Decent retention. Aroma is ashtray and coffee. Oily texture, medium body, soft carbonation and bitter, roasted finish. Taste is not sweet, roasted and a slightly herbal bitterness. Aroma less pleasant than the espresso "stout" but the taste is slightly more pleasing. Head gets nicely creamy when you swirl the beer around in the glass a bit. Nice touch. Girlfriend says: "I prefer the other one."
Bottle. Clear deep brown color, frothy tan head. Coffee and syrup aroma. Fairly sweet flavor with cocoa, coffee and molasses. Medium-full body, medium carbonation. Nice. Westkyoto77 (640) - Kyoto, JAPAN - NOV 18, 2017

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2017 Bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Pours black with a medium-sized, frothy head. The aroma features rich roasty maltiness including strong coffee, rye bread and chocolate. Taste is heavily roasty, full of coffee and dark chocolate. Hint of hoppy bitterness in the finish. Intense but well balanced taste. The palate is deliciously smooth and robust, full in body. Quality stuff. foodgazer (39) - MALAYSIA - NOV 3, 2017
It’s like the first and second waves of coffee making a comeback in the form of a roasted malty ale. Easily one of the most unique beers I’ve ever tasted. The first notes that hit the nose are a sharp, bold, almost spicy wave, that quickly gives way to a punchiness of dark roasted “coffee” notes. Usually coffee ales/stouts have a coffee-ish taste distinct from the body of the beer. Not so here. The two feel almost interlaced, and yet you get that strange hit of chili with every fresh sip. It’s intense and bizarre. Nurmis (877) - Oulu, FINLAND - OCT 17, 2017

From tap at Muted Horn, Berlin. Dark copper color with a beige head. The aroma is medium hoppy (pine) and light to medium malty (toasted, biscuit) with a lots of coffee. Medium body with a light sweetness and a medium to medium-heavy, long lasting bitterness. The flavor is again medium hoppy (pine, resin, spruce) and medium malty - honey, roasted malt, burnt wood, brown sugar and lots of coffee. Bitter hoppy finish. Although heavily bitter balanced - very good!
