HOOBILY JOOBILY!!! This is an old log that I’m filling in so I do not remember the specifics of the tasting. wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - APR 16, 2014
Bottle, Beers of Europe. Well it sounded bloody good anyway and another great psych label. Deep dark brown pour with a small tan head. Roasted malt, choc and coffee present in the nose. Flavour was dark malt driven and had some dark fruit, honey and vanilla notes with some bourbon lurking in the shadows. Alcohol rather prominent. Decent but falls short of greatness. dfinney23 (3246) - Houston, Texas, USA - APR 14, 2014
Coffee and chocolate, honey sweetness, vanilla and oak bourbon barrel, dark fruit, somehow all balanced in deep, dark deliciousness. Yummy. mar (5407) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 4, 2014
Black with a khaki head. Nose is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, sweet, alcohol and vanilla. Chewy palate, molasses, honey, coffee, chocolate and roasted malts. Jow (3896) - New York, USA - FEB 23, 2014
Draft at Spuyten as part of The Big Woody. Pours jet black with no head and some brown lacing. Nose if chocolate, and some honey sweetness. Tastes much of the same chocolate, some espresso, honey, light oak, and some bourbon notes more on finish as well. Alcohol is well hidden but these big beers catch up with me later in the day.

Near black pour with a creamy khaki head and nice lacing. Nose is sweet figs, raisin, chocolate, vanilla, and wood. Bourbon is evident in the taste along with chocolate, wood, and dark fruits. Lasting roasty aftertaste. Palate is dry and a little chalky. Bit of alcohol warmth. Good beer. vtafro (7445) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - FEB 22, 2014
Draft. Black pour with tan. Honey, bourbon and sweet aromas. Very sweet honey flavor, almost Belgian sweetness, barreling is almost not apparent. markextrae (4410) - Alingsås, SWEDEN, SWEDEN - FEB 22, 2014
shared bottle. poured a black colour with a nice mocha head. chocolate, vanilla, coffee, sweet sugar (could be the honey), dark fruits, plums, even some peppers?, mouthfeel is a bit to sweet for it’s style (for me). could have had some more age on the barrels if you ask me. the bourbon is a bit to hidden. TizzleJizzle (791) - Garland, Texas, USA - FEB 21, 2014
Bottle. Poured an opaque jet black with a thin khaki top, minimal lacing. Sweet taste, slight vanilla, subtle boozy flavor, with a dark roast finish. Low-medium carb, medium body. Alcohol is hidden very well. Quite buzzed after one Hansen (8587) - Assentoft, DENMARK - FEB 14, 2014
well, its great, but I have had too many of these black stouts, barrel aged, honey added and so on. But its still good. Dark brown, almost black. Has a light brown head, mostly l asting. Aroma has lots of dark notes, sweet roasted barley, faint vanilla, whisky, soy-sauce and perhaps coffee and chocolate.
