Bottle. High creamy and lasting brown head. Pitch black body. Strong coffee liquorice honey aroma. Surprisingly mild and smooth creamy coffee vanilla honey bourbon flavor with a suitable amount of hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long sweet finish. olr1984 (1500) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - FEB 2, 2014

Appearance: Black colour with a brown head.
Aroma: Sweet, malt, fruit, alcohol, honey.
Body: Full body, low carbonation.
Flavour: Fruit, alcohol, vanilla, bourbon, raisin.
Bottle to snifter. Pours a dark mahogany that is impossible to see though. Small cream head. Smells of honey and nothing more. Rich and thick on the mouth. Tastes of a VERy sweet stout. Some oats, malty and unfortunately underwhelming. Expensive for what you get!

Bottled. Poured near black with a short, dense, well-retained head. The aroma picked up lots of honey and roasted cocoa with accents of lavender and just a little sweet bourbon.. really a lot of honey going on, and it was interesting. Honey led the flavor department as well, with vanilla, toasted cocoa, and lesser licorice supporting.. lightly smoky bourbon and tangy oak barrel laced throughout.. honey, burnt roast, and a kiss of bourbon on the long, peppery, belly-warming finish. Heavy-bodied with low-moderate carbonation.. everything played well together, save for a little burnt sharpness in a couple places.. loved the use of honey. Bottle. Aroma is chocolate, booze, oak, and faint herbal hops. Appearance is black with a thin tan head. Good lacing. Taste is roasted barley, burnt toast, honey, oak, and booze. Full body with low carbonation. Overall rich, complex, and very good. A little warm so some ageing might be good. AirForceHops (7244) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 12, 2014
Bottle shared by Phatdog1. Snifter shows a thin tan head and extremely oily coating when swirled around the snifter. It smells really nice. Light bourbon, oak, chocolate and a large amount of sweetness from the honey. The flavor falls a bit short for me. The oily film that can been seen as you swirl the stout around the snifter also leaves a thick coating across your tongue and kind of makes the stout a cloying. The sweetness almost covers the bourbon, vanilla and chocolate flavors that people enjoy in a BBA stout. In no way is this a poor offering, I just think the honey was overdone causing the texture and flavor to be slightly off. I have no clue what more age could do to this and will not find out on my own. gunnfryd (14899) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 7, 2014
