"Heaven knows no frontiers, and I’ve seen heaven in your eyes"

This is how the Frontier beer series lost their ground, missed direction and finally found themselves again. This beer has no frontiers, meaning that it can now pick and choose among brewing specialties. Instead of being an IPA, this is a rather a Belgian ale, hopped and dryhopped with continental european hops and refermented with brettanomyces. A tart, picturesque and rural beer.

Ingredients: Water, barley malt, hops, Rock Candy, yeast and brettanomyces.

Light fruity, amber malts, plus some biscuit base/ Add some light brown sugar and clearly Belgian yeast to add some sweetness to the mix. Moderately hopped with a mix that was a bit too light and lemony for me. Didn’t really fit the beer. Looks good though and has the fitting heavy carbonation. Brett? Not much to be honest. We did drink it a bit too warm though. Certainly no Orval clone! (Bottle shared by Valentin in between festival sessions during the 1FRBG)

Tap. Hazy, brown, tan foam, lightly sour, light sweetness, medium body, soft carbonation, & bitter finish.

Pour is lightly hazed copper amber with an off white tight head. Nose is dominated by candied sugar with a touch of sweet malt and sweet citrus hop. Taste is again dominated by candied sugar, the finish has a tartness to it that thins the flavor. A bit of sweet malt up front, hops are faint in the finish. Carbonation is extremely strong, body is fairly light. Beer is sweet and a bit simple, hops don’t really shine through and brett doesn’t really make a presence other than thin out the finish.

Przyjemny.

Bottle. Pours cloudy deep golden with a huge off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruitiness, some spicy notes and yeast. Flavor is sweet and fruity with some yeast, spices, fruitiness and caramel. Medium body, average carbonation.

Bottle, 75cl. A huge off-white head forms over a hazy orange-golden body. The aroma has a nice fruityness, sort of vinous, with some malty hints. A pleasant brett touch chimes in. Fruity, lighlty bretty flavor with a peppery touch and orange peel. Medium to full body, quite effervescent but at a pleasant level. Lasting finish. Pretty unusual and strange in the start, but nice indeed. 140509

very lively darker-brown with earthy fusty brett notes on the nose. fairly bitter, lively carbonation (stil there 3 days after opening) fluffy white head. quite dry slightly acrid finish. full bodied, quite heavy, touch of funk but mostly dominated by yeast esters and warming alcohol

Bottle shared with wyzzywyz22, cheers mate! As usual you’ve delivered. Poured a slightly hazy copper colour with a healthy off white head. Aroma of fruity jam, sugar, brett. Flavour is hints of flowers, hops, malts, some funky farmyard aromas. I loved this stuff. I have to have this again, thought it was more saison than Belgian ale.
