Pours black with a tan head, dissipates quickly but the lacing is present and clingy. Nose is coffee, dark chocolate, sweet malt, roast, somewhat smoky; just hints of oak and vanilla. Taste is espresso, cocoa, alcohol, molasses, raisins, bourbon. It's not mind-blowing, but it's good.

(Bottle) Black colour with dense, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, sweet espresso, cacao, oak wood, black rye bread, muscovado sugar and dried fruit (dates, raisins). Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, sweet liquorice, strong sweet coffee, tobacco, dark fruit, dates, brown sugar, oak wood and a balanced roasty bitterness in a sweet and fiery finish. 330 ml bottle into snifter; no bottle dating, listed at 10.6%. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1 finger dense dark tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, whisky, peat smoke, toasted oak, dark bread, vanilla, toffee, cream, raisin, plum, fig, tobacco, char, and roast/smoky earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, scotch barrel, and lactose notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, whisky, peat smoke, toasted oak, dark bread, vanilla, toffee, cream, raisin, plum, fig, tobacco, char, and roast/smoky earthiness. Moderate roast/char bitterness and whisky/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, whisky, peat smoke, oak, dark bread, vanilla, toffee, dark fruits, tobacco, char, and roast/smoky earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, scotch barrel, and lactose flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet and oak spiciness balance, with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this an outstanding imperial milk stout! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, scotch barrel, and lactose flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering. Pours deep black with low beige head. Good lacing. Aroma is of bacon, crème de menthe, nuts, tequila, strong alcohol. Taste is of coffee, roasted malt, cream, bitterness. Palate: Full bodied, soft carbonation. Overall: Good stuff.

Bottle 0.33l, 10.6 abv, about 2 years old. Dark oily liquid with tan/reddish soft head. Smell is very nice, could smell wood, vanilla. Creamy and rich in taste. Pours a good black with a thin brown head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of ash, smoke, iodine and some grapes. Taste is of smoky milk chocolate if that makes sense. UPDATED: APR 14, 2016 pours unclear dark brown with a small beige cap offering some retention and lacing. umami roasted maltiness, raisins, hint of smokiness, minty and piney alcohol, lactose sweetness, molasses, clean lightly buttery yeast. moderately low carbonation, medium body - oily; boozy, floral and resinous-smoky finish. rich flavors - nice barreling as well. nice milk barrel-aged stout.
