COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish: Imperial Whisky Barrel Aged Milk Stout.

English: The beast has landed. A limited one time release Whisky Barrel Aged Imperial Milk Stout at 13,1 % ABV. "Sort Mælk" = "Black Milk"... Oh Yeah!

12oz bottle pours an oily black with some cloudy, tan head. Nose is heavy on the licorice, molasses, malt, dark chocolate, some vanilla, char notes, dried fruits. Flavor is black licorice, burnt caramel, mild coffee bean, chocolate, vanilla, some molasses, a little bit of cough syrup. Thick, syrupy finish.

Pours black, with a solid creamy dark beige head. Boubony tones in the aroma. Thick round coffee, lacto mouthfeel, a bit boozy with a little sweetness. Great!

330ml bottle from TLH Quick N Save Chevron A rich dark pour that floods roasted chocolate and expands the nose after warming to coffee, hints of carmel and whiskey that gains throughout. Very light foam tappering to lace around the glass. A mouth full of oaky chocolate, sticky cacao nib textured with bitter chocolate/semi-sweet finish. Nothing short of exceptional. Like milk from the Mother! Cheers...

Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - FEB 26, 2016
Bottle: Thanks Hackobock: Served in a Chouffe glass: Black beer with a brown head. Aromas of perfume, cognac, roast, wood, bay leaf, earthy, dark fruity, hints of peat and smoke... Flavours of berries, some red fruit, roast, whiskey, earthy, wood, cognac, liquor, hint of lacto, coal, etc... Aftertaste is bitter, roast, wood, whiskey, cognac... Low carbo, light creamy mouthfeel, close to full bodied. Strange, one time strong cognac other time you taste red and dark fruit, other time more earthy whiskey, but nonetheless a good beer.

bottle @ home. Aged 18 months. Pours a pitch black liquid with a long lasting, thick and creamy, brown colored head. Sweet and complex aroma with notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, vanilla, dill(!), wood, dark bread, peat and some smoke, licorice and slightly vinous dates. Smooth yet sharply roasted taste with a full body. Taste of dark chocolate, vanilla, wood, peat, licorice, dark bread, toffee, spices. Dry, bitter finish with peat, some lactose, coffee and bitter chocolate lingering. Really good.

Bottle from Santa, thanks for the opportunity! Thick black liquid with a small off white head that slowly dissipates. Smoky vanilla oaky nose. Rich roasty chocolate with hints on toffee. Smokey roasty flavor with bits of roasty salty dark chocolate. Light warming alcohol notes. Very nice brew!

11.2 ounce bottle, label says 10.6% ABV, no dating on the bottle or label that I notice. Served in a DFH snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. I like the aroma a lot, the brew smells like peat, Scotch whisky, roasted malt, milk chocolate, smoke and molasses. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also some sweet spiciness and an iodine/mineral flavor. Sweet, smoky and minerally tasting, I really like this! Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s creamy and coating with a good amount of carbonation. Well, I liked this a lot. I’d buy this again the next time I see it, and I really think there need to be more Scotch whisky/oak barrel aged beers. To Øl did a great job with this one! $9.79 a bottle.
