Sur is Danish for sour and Mosaic refers to the hop that this beer is based upon. This is a sour mashed 6% pale ale, where we have tried to give a traditional Pale Ale an lactic acid backbone. The lactic acid comes with acidity, but also a fatness that works really well with the mosaic hop, that gives clear notes of tropical fruits like mango and passion fruit.

Can from Old Town. Pours a clearish gold with a full finger of foam that lingers. Big tropical fruit nose with guava, pineapple, coconut young strawberry dominating. The nose really slays on this. Tart lemon and faint tart strawberry on the palate. Prickly carbonation with small, active bubbles that work well on a hot afternoon day. Clean and tart with a nice dry lingering fruit-forward finish. Fantastic.

Draught at Row 34, 2/22/17.
Moderately hazy, blonde-brass body is topped by a good-sized white head showing moderate retention.
Lightly juicy fruits (nectarine, white grape, light pineapple) mix with lactic acidity and dry, biscuity/crackery malts behind it. Doesn’t smell dirty/bile-like as some others in the series have, but it also doesn’t smell particularly inviting. Just smells lactic, primarily, like an American kettle sour with little else going on. Even the hops aren’t particularly done well here, being rather stark/sharp and without any real roundness or brightness. No alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth it shows moderate, somewhat loose carbonation and a very dry, heavily attenuated texture with lots of cracker. Strong lactic acidity is joined by dry pineapple and nectarine with moderate bitterness. No real softness or strongly juicy hops. Rather bitter and with tons of intense unripe fruit on the finish.
