Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Smooth palate, light and crispy. Smooth dark malts, touch of coffee and a whisper of dark chocolate. Tangy dried fruits underneath. Thin light malt cream. Light piney hops, mildly spicy. Very light citrus. Finishes semi dry and crisp. A refreshing and easy drinking black ipa.

Keg at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours clear, deep brown with a small, creamy tan cap. Loads of well toasted pine in the nose, burnt toast, some earth. Medium sweet flavor with heavy burnt bread, bitter burnt pine, some baking cocoa, burnt grass, some minerals. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Resinous, sticky burnt pine to finish, further burnt toasty bread, some earth, subtle grapefruit, some minerals. Pretty tasty overall, if a bit ballsy. Bottle from Vinspecialisten, Aalborg. Almost black with a lasting light brown head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt and moderate hoppy - citrus. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 171213
