Bottle sampled in a glass,
this beer was amber-orange in the glass, it had a bit of haze, there was a nice, creamy white cover with a sticky ring, it left nice spots, fingers and sheets of lacing on the glass,
there was funk - earth and barnyard on the nose with ripe fruit (lemon & grapefruit), fermented fruit (sour orange & cantaloupe), grape skins,
some dry white wine notes, faint wood, a hint of rhubarb, a little toasted malt, some fruit and malt sweetness,
it had flavors of sour orange, light toasted malt, a little peach, other sour fruit, a hint of pineapple, faint bread, some fruit and malt sweetness,
the finish had a light bitterness with some sourness and spice that left the tongue dry, it was thirst quenching,
the mouth feel was light medium, there was lively carbonation and it was creamy on the lips,
it had a nice presentation, the nose was interesting, the flavors were good but not as enjoyable as the aromas, nice mouthfeel,
a very nice drink. hman43 (1974) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - FEB 18, 2018
It pours golden with a bit of haze. Head retention is moderately high. It has a strong leather aroma with some moderate fruitiness with orange being the most noticeable. There is some low toast in the background with moderately low spiciness. There is a high spiciness with moderate leather. There is a citrus element that is mostly orange. There are also peppery elements with a bit of earth. It has a medium body with a strong dry finish. Carbonation is moderate as well. Overall it is a quite flavorful beer with the brett enhancing the flavors and finish very dry. MarcoDL (5580) - NETHERLANDS - SEP 29, 2017
At tasting. Bottle. Aroma has funky barnyard, brett, dry yeast, citrus, hay and grass. Taste has lots of funky barnyard, horseblanket, brett, hay, oak, vanilla, citrus, dry yeast and a bretty funky finish. This is basically orval and therefore fantastic. SinH4 (7041) - Garching b. Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is brett, woody, leathery, a touch soapy brausetablette funk, hops, pale malts. Taste is pale malts, leathery, soap, young Orval like, but sweeter and less refined. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Inbreak (7036) - Loddefjord, NORWAY - SEP 27, 2017

Bottle, #16005, 3,5 years before bbd. Pours hazy yellow, with a big, although quickly dissipating, creamy head. Aroma is tart with wooden yeast and bretty notes of apricots and malts with grain and toffee. Medium body, with average carbonation. Flavour is tart wooden yeast and fruity brett with floral notes, berries and citrus, as well as malts with cereals, heather and toffee. Dry, phenolic finish.
Gusher. Huge white coarse head. Hazy deep orangey opaque body. Wooden funky barnyard aroma with fruity notes. Initially there were dung notes, but by the time I’d cleaned up the mess, those had dispersed. Dryish-sweetish wooden funky taste with pine needle notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish funky mealy aftertaste with herbal fruity notes. Weird beer. It doesn’t seem to ever settle down anywhere or have any defined character. It’s just a weird melange of flavours that somehow kind of works anyway. Interesting. (0.75l bottle, from wine monopoly, Strømmen.) wlajwl (7352) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - JUL 10, 2017
Aroma is Belgian yeast, Brett and tropical fruit/fruit. The flavor is Brett, Belgian yeast, fruit and an increasingly sweet finish. mR_fr0g (14430) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 6, 2017
