Tap at The Earl of Essex. Pours a hazy light purple/cherry colour with a light pink head. Barely any aroma of any kind - weird. A touch of sourness. Light bodied and watery. Big on berries, apples, some lemon, but this is pretty poor.

Black Heart. Cask. Murky dark red beer with a purple tint. Residual pale head. Palate is semi dry with mildly crisp carbonation. Insipid fruits, vague cherry and a whisper of fruits of the forest. Minerals. Semi dry finish. I suspect there is a decent beer here, but the cask conditioning feels tired.
