Light amber, clear coloured with a frothy dark white head. On the nose aromas of grapefruit, dried citrus/orange peel with a light barnyard noteand a touch of dried tropical fruit arise. Lightly carbonated it develops some light slick effervescence. Medium bodied somewhat fruity sweet with well defined citrusy, grassy hop notes developing bitterness which stays for a good while drying out eventually. - light hazy and bright amber-red beer with a long lasting pale beige foam; light malty with notes of red fruits and spices; a good malt backbone, light chewy and pretty tasty, creamy palate; dry and quite bitter; long spicy hoppy finish
75 cl bottle. Cloudy amber beer, creamy head, fruity hops aroma, caramel and toffee flavour, long final bitter jmohno (1618) - Iowa, USA - JUL 18, 2014
Hazed orange, mostly foam, potential Belgian style or infected. Definatly a funky type nose of Belgian yeast, overly fruity for a ipa with fruit Belgian notes. Almost thin alcoholy taste dry and very bitter. Didn’t know this was going to be a Belgian style ipa. Extremly bitter with almost no malt body or taste, taste fermented out/infected. ? My Bottom Line:
jtclockwork (16561) - , New Jersey, USA - JUN 30, 2014
Coniferous wooden notes perfuse this IPA’s lean caramelized sugars, building moderate, balancing bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A puffy head of foam bobs atop the shiny amber.
-Carbonation is a bit zealous for the style.
-The flavour profile is relatively simple, mainly playing on two notes (conifers and caramel).
-The hops possess compelling cedar-like angles.
-This is very well made but the recipe is rather boring.
Bottle. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose/taste of caramel malt, dank hops, toasted bread, dank citrus, orange and grapefruit peel, dank sappy pine and doughy yeast. Medium body. Istur (22) - ITALY - APR 14, 2014
On tap @ La Fine Mousse (Paris). Slightly hazy bright amber with a small off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is malty (a tad too much) with grapefruit, caramel and light resinous notes. Taste is moderately sweet with toasted malt, caramel, light chocolate notes, grapefruits and very light resinous bitter finish. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Slightly oily mouthfeel and somewhat dry finish. Average/good IPA and decent drinkability despite the fact it’s not really on style. Palme (4807) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 4, 2014
0.75l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. Old bottle that pours a dark amber golden body with a nice big lacing light beige top. The beer has lots of floaters and unfiltered particles. Smells really not ipa-ish. Quite sweet and almost little toast so with tones of both nuts, chocolate wrapper, fresh grounded coffee. Tastes much the same also, and in a peculiar way I’m quite liking it. Soft oily in the mouth and it has a soft carbonation level. Soft roasted almost nutty. Ends with more grounded not completely finished roasted coffee and coffee filter. Strange strange, but as the aroma, I’m kinda liking it the taste also! 09.10.2013 Finn (7547) - Tromsø, NORWAY - FEB 16, 2014
Flaske 0,75l. Påspandert og delt med flere under seanse på Tårnrommet 23 Apr 13. Mørk gyldenbrun. Uklar. Høyt luftig skum med litt farge. Mye lacing. Herlig fruktaroma. Svisker, plommer, druer. Smaken er mandler & tørket frukt. Litt tørr i ettersmaken. En veldig lovende start som ikke følges helt opp.
