Bottled. Pours a clear, dark ruby-brown colour, with a large, lasting off-white head. Fresh aroma of hops and pine, some citrus but no malt. Mostly dry in the mouth, with a smooth finish where a touch of malt appears. Flavours are clean and well balanced, but fairly, subtle.
Bottle at home. Appears clear brown with a big tan head. Aroma of malt, ripe dark fruits, caramel and toasted notes. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation. BlackHaddock (7515) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 24, 2015
28th March 2015 at home. 500ml bottle (BB 20th Dec 2015) into a UK pint sleeve and shared with no one. Lovely clear red body, on top a white foaming head. Malts rule the nose and taste, semi-sweet and red berry fruity flavours lead your senses through the brew which ends in a mild bitter dryness. Years ago I visited a beer festival in the Cotswold’s and the best beer I had all day was this beer (in a pub after the festival): glad I have had the chance to try it again since I joined the internet world and it’s beer sites. scotty (1218) - SCOTLAND - JAN 11, 2015

Bottle - Xmas gift. Poured a clear chestnut with a thin halo of off white head. Appeared to be filtered and possibly pasteurised. Aroma of light caramel, grass and slightly stale malt. More flat malt on the initial flavour with some sweets and aniseed. Finish was cereal, brown sugar and carbonated water. Had this on cask in a pub I worked in many years back, and I seem to recall it was substantially better than this bottled offering. Mr_Pink_152 (5248) - Lincoln, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JAN 26, 2014

A clear, deep red ale with a thick, frothy head. Aroma is very mild and of fruit and malt. The flavour is similar with a citrus edge and it’s quite bitter on the tongue. It’s subtle but distinctive and very drinkable. Leighton (21839) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 26, 2012
Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours clear, ruby-golden-brown with a small, foamy white head. Nose has some semi-ripened fruits, some berries and semi-dark fruits, light tang, hints of dry leather. Light sweet flavor with plenty of dried fruits, maybe cherries and berries, some light smokey malts (which seem a bit out of place), mild wood, leather, dirt and leaves. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light sweetness in the finish with some leathery fruits, dirty and leafy hops, faint toasted grass, and toasty bread. It’s alright overall. Nothing super about it.
