(bottle) Almost black coloured hue with a ruby shine and a beige and firm mid-sized foamy head. Roasty malty aroma with notes of ashes, burnt wood and grounded coffee beans, also hints of dark chocolate and caramel. Mildly sweet and roasty bitter flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Moderately roasted malt character with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, as well as hints of caramel, vanilla and ashy accents; mildly sweet and roasty bitter finish with notes of dark chocolate and subtle hints of dried fruits at the very end, while the alcohol is fairly well-embedded. Good. 10.X.16

50 cl bottle @ Timo A. Thanks lusikka! BBE 05.06.2017.
Pours dark ruby red color with a small off-white head. Dark berries on the nose, malts, molasses, some ripe fruits, grain. Flavor is sweet malty with subtle dark berry notes, grassy, some menthol-y herbal tones on the background, cocoa. Interesting, a positive surprise, quaffable.

Roasted malt and coffee in aroma and taste. Nice dark colour with a bit of red. In taste there is also some whiskey and alcohol, which leads to medium bitter syrup finish.

Although its a commercial beer, it delivers. Smoke, caramel, toast, cereal. Brown, clear body, minimal, tan head. Heavy sweetness, medium bitternes, light sourness. Full bodied, creamy. Average carbonation with abrupt finish.

The beer look amazing, just the way I like it. The color of the beer is a nice pitch black on the naked eye. Light unveils a nice ruby red/brownish glow. On top of the beer, a nice layer of soft light brown foam is formed. The beer seems rather clear. The smell is nice. There are lovely aromas of malted barley, giving the beer a dark roasty bitterness and also a mellow sweetness. I smell some caramel and coffee tones. There is unfortunately a strong metallic flavor. This gives the beer an unpleasant bitter touch. The taste is better. This doesnt contain the metal touch. It only has the gentle roasty bitter touches, reminding of coffee and caramel, and sweeter malt aromas of sweet chocolate. The balance between bitterness and sweetness is great in the taste. Its better than in the smell. The finish has a strong syrup-like sweetness and gentle bitters. The plate is great. It has just the amount of kick to give a pleasant sensation. Great beer.

Zlotta (2354) - Hagen, GERMANY - SEP 4, 2016
Sampled from 0.5 l bottle at RBBSG 2016 in Evergem. Hazy, dark brown to black with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and some hazelnut. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee and hazelnut, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a little roasty and slightly metallic finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!
