355ml bottle. Reddish brown, thin white head. Strawberry marmalade in aroma, flavor does not differ that much. Malty, almost boozy finish. bytemesis (9497) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - OCT 12, 2015
Bottle. Pours clear rich hazel, small beige head, dissipates fairly quickly, some lacing. Aroma is rich and malty, a bit smoky, toffee and woody notes. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter, very malty and rich, caramel notes prominent. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. beer_rookie (706) - Arkansas, USA - SEP 30, 2015
UPDATED: OCT 7, 2015 Pours a dark ruby color. Almost too dark to see through. Less than two fingers tan head. Reduces to film, but some lacing left on glass.Barreras (1689) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - AUG 25, 2015
Aroma is very malty. It’s also pretty heavy on caramel and bread. Some grassy hops in there, but not much. The malts are pretty dark roasted, so smells also somewhat smokey.
Taste is a little caramel. It’s also maybe just a tad chocolatey. It’s very malty, but not so bitter from hops. Taste is hard to figure out. But it seems there may be some figs in there, perhaps?.
Mouthfeel is quite full. It’s thick and rich and perfect for cold winter nights, hence the winter seasonal style. It does finish a little astringent from the high ABV.
Overall, it’s pretty good. I wouldn’t suggest it for everyone. This is not very drinkable. I don’t know how one could handle more than two of these. But it’s worth a try if you like the style.
Pours a light copper color with a faint toffee aroma. Taste is sweet, with a decent malt backbone. Syrup, and caramel in the flavor with a little bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall, tasty and good. solidfunk (9729) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - AUG 24, 2015
Lots of sweet malt and caramel. Light hint of roast. Sweet finish. Slightly syrupy consistency. Bottle.

Pours a clear reddish copper body with a minimal head. Sweet and makty nose with caramel and chokolate notes. Sweet malty and chokolatey taste with a mildly bitter finish. Soft carbonation and rich palate. Good basic bock. snoworsummer (6273) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUL 19, 2015
Draft at the brewpub. Pours clear reddish brown with a fizzy off white head. Tastes like sweet nutty malt, some dried fruit, caramel, chocolate, very sweet with a light hop presence. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like sweet malt, nutty, and some dried fruit. Jabah (559) - Bethesda, Maryland, USA - APR 28, 2015
The best thing about this beer for me was the kick (ABV%). The balance of flavors were a little overwhelming, but Bocks are typically heavy in flavor....especially a double. It was good, but meant more for sipping or a change of pace beer. I also read a review about not mixing with dinner, but to enjoy on it’s own....which I tend to agree with. UPDATED: SEP 20, 2015 Good amber beer, a bit more interesting as it is a doppelbock , got a flat bottle but think the others had a good head, will try again. Low carbonation on another bottle arminjewell (9727) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - APR 23, 2015
Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toast, some dark fruit notes into a bit of spice, some vanilla, touch of grassy notes. Taste was a mix of dough, grass, dark fruit into some spice, caramel, toffee into a bit of dark fruits, finishing slightly sweet.
