COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This award winning doppelbock (8.2% alcohol by volume) lager is brewed with a generous supply of Munich, carapils, caramel and chocolate malts and is fermented with Bavarian lager yeast. The best thing about this beer for me was the kick (ABV%). The balance of flavors were a little overwhelming, but Bocks are typically heavy in flavor....especially a double. It was good, but meant more for sipping or a change of pace beer. I also read a review about not mixing with dinner, but to enjoy on its own....which I tend to agree with.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2015 Good amber beer, a bit more interesting as it is a doppelbock , got a flat bottle but think the others had a good head, will try again. Low carbonation on another bottle

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toast, some dark fruit notes into a bit of spice, some vanilla, touch of grassy notes. Taste was a mix of dough, grass, dark fruit into some spice, caramel, toffee into a bit of dark fruits, finishing slightly sweet.

Bottle at home. Pours brown with a frothy tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is malty, nutty, and slightly metallic. Flavor is malty and some nuttiness. Slightly sweet but balanced with nice hop bitterness. Finishes pretty clean with some lingering bitterness. Overall, a nice beer.
