A blend of hot and mild Anaheim chiles infused in a refreshing lager. Tommyknockers slipped into the mining camps of Idaho Springs in the 1800 with the discovery of gold in our mountains and streams. These elves though hardly seen, were often heatrd stirring, singing and working. They guided many fortunate miners from harm’s way and the gold they sought.

12 oz bottle. At the Tommyknocker, Helsinki, Finland.
Clear deep golden color with a small white head. Chili, vegetables and mild vinegar in the aroma. Chili (without burn), vegetables, malt, tea and dryness in the flavor. Chili should be much more present. Watery.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear orange gold with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong chilis and lime zest. Thin, wheat, lime, nice heat from chilis, very good.

Tallahassee, Fl - Beer Stop - 12 oz bottle. Slight murkiness to the light golden pour, faint, bubbly off-white head. Earthy aroma of Anaheim Chile peppers, a bit of topsoil. Flavor has a nice pepper burn to it, some gumball sweetness, a bit of earthiness. Nice burn going down, but not distracting. Decent.

Bottle. Green chile/bell pepper and light malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet green bell pepper/chile, light biscuit malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Slight heat in finish. Okay - if you like the taste of peppers.

Bottle: Clear gold with small white head. Scent is sort of like an extra mild jalapeno juice....raw green pepper. Taste is pretty much the same....peppers, but no heat....very vegetal..... Not exactly appealing.

Overall this may be one of the most interesting beers I’ve tried in a while. Interesting doesn’t always mean good though. Aroma was raw vegetables. Pour was a clear medium gold with a thin white ring for a head. Taste was mind blowing. This beer, quite literally, tastes like a liquified green pepper. You can almost taste the seeds. The raw green pepper taste was spot on but could’ve used a little heat. Very one dimensional. Light carbonation

12oz bottle, thanks to Greg B for this one. Shared with some friends. Best by Oct 19 15... I was hesitant to rate this at all considering, but I figure if I’m going to try it, I may as well take some notes on it. Big green pepper kind of jalapeno raw vegetal pepper smell in the nose. Clear golden color. Minimal ring of white head. Some moderate plain breadiness to the malt. Much less pepper in the flavor than in the smell. Minimal to zero pepper kick, just a big veggie pepper aroma. Pretty clean, really, just bread and pepper. Not much to it, though. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Mild slightly rough bite to the texture. Little to no carbonation. Medium-plus body, kind of slick texture. Hint of lemon citrus. Honestly, a lot more approachable and sippable than expected, for my sample.

355ml bottle. This is a pepper flavored ale, it isn’t spicy but an easy super poundable lager.

12 oz. bottle. BBD MAR. 28 16. Pours a thin off white head, over a clear, gold (SSRM 5) body.....nose is green chile, light dustiness, vegetable notes, light cereal malts, balance to the chile......taste is slightly sweet, with moderate chile notes, becoming mildly hot, light cereal malts, becoming mildly bitter on the finish, balance to the chile......mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, moderate carbonation. This is a quite light simple beer, with rather low chile heat. It might appeal to those who are not really into big chile presence but the base beer recipe could use some work. BJCP 7/313/4/6

A clear golden body with a scarce head that leaves some lacing. Nose has sharp notes of fresh chili and some hay. Taste is mildly sweet with a soft, lingering but fairly mild spiciness on the finish. Soft carbonation and light palate. A bit dull, needs more hotness but would then be unbalanced. Not really my thing.
