A delicate amount of Maple syrup is added to each barrel of our award winning Maple Nut Brown Ale to impart roasted sweetness. This addition balances the nut flavor produced by Munich caramel and chocolate malts used in the brewhouse, producing a drinkable dark amber ale with a relatively low alcohol content. 2000 World Beer Cup Gold Medal & 1996 Great American Beer Festival Bronze Medal Winner

Poured from bottle. Pours a clear, thin looking, pale brown with a creamy 1 finger head. Aroma is fairly mild, some mild caramel and maple notes. Taste is a touch of weak coffee, milk chocolate, slightly burned extract, and maybe a touch of maple. There is also a slightly off sweet/tang flavor. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Not bad, but not memorable either.

Draught at Tommyknocker. Dark brown color, beige head. Bitter taste with nuts, roasted malts, toffee and bread. Bitter finish with nuts, toffee and roasted malts. Decent brown ale, although utterly uninteresting.

Tap@tkcbb. Brown, light haze. Nutty slight doughy nose. Malty. Lightish bodied, clean clear. Nutty huskey malty, some herbs. Dry finish. A bit bland, soft sweet brown ale.

Nice maple nutty flavor but very watered down in the end. Nice brown color. Wouldn't drink again.

First tastes of banana and sweet malts, caramel, roasty, toffy. Taste bitterness feels like 18-20. Very sweet malty beer

Sickeningly sweet smell with a flavor to match. Smooth but very little carbonation. Very sweet maple syrup taste with a tounge coating feel at the end of each sip.

Not as good as the Imperial version, but still very tasty. The nutty qualities are wonderful.

Cakes (436) - New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 9, 2014
12 oz bottle. Pours clear red/ brown. Smell is of roasted malts, a bit of maple sweetness, caramel. Taste is nutty, caramel malty,. A bit eatery on the tongue.

Bottle. A- Malty, real maple syrup, caramel, nutty. A- Copper color, clear liquid, quickly fading brown head. T- Malty, subtle maple syrup, caramel, bready. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish. O- Not too shabby. I could actually smell and sort of taste the maple syrup. I am not a brown ale fan but this one was alright. Could benefit from more of a nutty taste and a tab more maple on the palate otherwise good.
