A delicate amount of Maple syrup is added to each barrel of our award winning Maple Nut Brown Ale to impart roasted sweetness. This addition balances the nut flavor produced by Munich caramel and chocolate malts used in the brewhouse, producing a drinkable dark amber ale with a relatively low alcohol content. 2000 World Beer Cup Gold Medal & 1996 Great American Beer Festival Bronze Medal Winner

12oz bottle, brown pour, 1 inch off white Hints of smoky flavor, some sweetness (maybe the maple syrup flavor) and roast taste. Great taste, balanced brew. Worth the try!!

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2017 355ml bottle: Pours a clear amber with thin off white head. Aroma of caramel, definite maple notes and a slight hint of nuttiness. Great flavors of maple and caramel. Low bitterness, medium low carbonation. Overall a really interesting beer that was really good.

mabuzzer (982) - Hamilton, SCOTLAND - JUL 1, 2017
12oz bottle. Clear brown with a small white head. Sweet maple and malt aroma, flavour is similar, syrupy.

naivepegasus (389) - USA - MAR 27, 2017
Pours a dark ruby with a quarter finger of beige head that quickly dissipates into a soapy foam. Brown sugar notes in the nose. A bit of a sweet taste, with a kind of watery mouthfeel. Syrupy in flavor with some sweet malt notes. Easy going down, but not overly complex

Block (3222) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - OCT 9, 2016
Backlog entry: Flight at the brewery. A nice selection, several IPAs. Good all-around. True to style.

djd07 (16463) - Houston, Texas, USA - OCT 5, 2016
On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy copper with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong maple and roast. Medium body, strong maple syrup, cocoa, light finish, very good.

Hermod (8654) - Vantaa, FINLAND - SEP 22, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 22, 2016 Draught @ tommyknocker. Poured brown color with a thin white head. Aroma has caramel, boozy notes, hops. Maple suryp comes through in the finish at least. Feels quite thin overall.

muffel (150) - Lower Saxony, GERMANY - MAR 18, 2016
On tap in Helsinki (Tommyknocker). Medium brown color, small white head with some lacing. Medium body and medium carbonation. Nut flavor, some chocolate malts too. Okay, but nothing special.

VastActiv (8088) - Oulu/Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 1, 2016
Tap at Tommyknocker, Helsinki. Colour is brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Chocolate, some nuts and malts. Very easy.

lhns03 (103) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 21, 2015
Pours a dirty mahogany with poor, uneven head that has little retention. Aroma is okay with some nice notes of burnt caramel, malty almost cola notes and a hint of maple nuttiness. Mouthfeel and flavor are pretty poor. Thin and watery with only the bit of sweetness from maple syrup saving the flavor. Not great.

beerhotline (1) - - OCT 21, 2015 does not count
A malty aroma with burnt caramel notes, and a toasty nose. It pours a little hazy, and has the appearance of flat root beer. It starts out sweet, and finishes with a bitter, burnt note. Light body, with a thin texture, slightly fizzy finish.
