Bottle from brewpub in Idaho Springs. Color was light brown/dark amber. Aroma of molasses, brown sugar and dark fruit. Smoky flavor with alot molasses and dark fruit.
Big strong rude somewhat creamy alky malt medicine. Smell is shade of whisky. Cybercat (6208) - Georgia, USA - APR 24, 2015
Pours clear mahogany with a thick and fine-bubbled light tan head that leaves generous lacing. Shy, malty aroma has notes of cloves and cinnamon and a whisper of caramel. Flavor is considerably bolder than the aroma, malty with oak, clove, caramel and cinnamon tones providing a nice background. A snip of miso pops up as well. Firm, smooth texture has decent fizz and leaves a woody finish that has cloves and cinnamon hints. No butts about it, this is a worthy beer. rollsrace (86) - - SEP 2, 2014
Brewed with toasted Hungarian oak. The beer has a dark amber color. Starts with a Caramel sweet flavor followed by the oakyness finishing with a strong alcohol and vanilla flavor. Tasted on 4/4/2014. Got for $2.25 per beer. tmoreau (4670) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - JUL 30, 2014
Cellared 12 oz. bottle from the 6th Annual FoWBAB(2008) Entry B615, described as Doppelbock aged on finely toasted, Hungarian oak. Shared and poured to snifters with a fairly clear, copper color, a modest layer of off white, bubbly foam, and light spots of lacing. The nose was sweet, grape & cherry, vinous character, with tannins & oak combined with olives on the back. The taste contributed tartness, light spice, continued vinous nature, but was soft textured, with little to no effervescence. Interesting, but seemed well past prime. rdixon77 (3064) - Georgia, USA - JUL 9, 2014
Nice woody beer. Cream colored. Lots of wood and vanilla in nose. Toffee, caramel, bock maltiness, and smoky wood in the taste. Alcohol present but pleasantly warming. Medium bodied. Good stuff.

Bottle. Pours clear orange with red hues and an off-white head. Aroma strong oak, figs, raisin, vanilla. Taste is really smooth, lots of wood, sweet but nicely balanced with the wood and alcohol. A really good beer! Salmoniform (1281) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - JUN 4, 2014
Poured from tap to glass. Amber hue with off white head. Aroma is nice with oak, roasted malt, smoke, vanilla, sulphur. Mouthfeel is great with a medium body and zesty carbonation. Taste is dry malt sweetness throughout with a wonderful wood astringent following and slight sulphur in the finish. Overall this is wonderful. Homer321 (5202) - Melboring, Florida, USA - MAY 25, 2014
Draft. Big malt and oak in the nose up front. Some toffee and toss behind that. Pours a fairly clear amber red color with almost no head. Taste is a sweet candy malt up front with some chewiness in the mouthfeel. Finish shows off the vanilla and wood character but also some very strong alcohol warming all the way to the ears. Tame down the hot and the wouldn’t be too bad. JHeath99 (1680) - Warner Robins, Georgia, USA - MAY 8, 2014
