The label says this is a lovely ale. Who am I to argue with it? Orange, with a thin ring of foam. Fruity, malty aroma. Fruity, malty flavor. Not particularly complex or overpowering, but a decent session ale. Heathen (1500) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - FEB 5, 2009
THOUGHTS: Very British. Not a huge bitters fan, but this was nice. Great session beer.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a medium orangey amber with an average, off-white head that kept a sheet and left fair lacing. The aroma was cereal, cookie, and caramel malts, light floral and herbal hops, peach, apricot, orange and tea. The flavor started a little sweet and finished sweet and bitter with an average duration. There was caramel malt, apricot, tea and light floral hops. the medium body was sort of creamy with tingly carbonation and a light to moderate astringent finish. Bonus point for being better than the sum of its parts. JPDIPSO (6317) - Wauwatosa, USA - FEB 4, 2009
Dark bronze color with a smallish light beige head. Buttery floor malt and hints of dried flowers. Average feel, perhaps a bit too much carbonation. Earthy malt and wood flavors in the start. Some peat as well in the mix. The malt holds on for a long time and only ever so slightly reveals some floral hops. A barley and oak tea so to speak. Perhaps straight from the cask, but I do not find much in this to call lovely. Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - JAN 29, 2009
It is hazy bronze with a huge, creamy head. The aroma is spicy fruity, malty and quite full. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of malt, fruit, caramel and light spice. Beth101 (531) - West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 10, 2009
Amber with a thin white head has some lacing on the glass. Has a strong aroma of coffee . Tastes of chocolate/ coffee with a hint of nut.

Amber. Medium soapy head. Aroma is floral and malty. Flavor of berries, spice, malt. Spicy finish. A tad over-spiced in fact. And yet, this is quite drinkable. jbrus (4988) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - DEC 14, 2008

Grassy aroma with toffee notes. Amber color, beige head, good lace. Toffee, caramel and herbal. light malty. High drinkability. No complex or nothing but very pleasant. I could handle quite a few and still enjoy.
Bottle: Pours a deep, clear orange/copper with a one-finger head. Smells of pale malts, mild caramel, grassy/flowery British hops are there, but mild. Light bodied. The flavor has a lightly sweet malt character, a dark fruit note is detected, with a nutty suggestion as well. There is a touch of husk towards the flowery, mildly bitter finish. Simple, a bit bland, but balanced. Although not bitter enough, in my opinion, it does not have any major flaws. Good to session. HenrikSoegaard (14760) - Randers, DENMARK - NOV 21, 2008
