1.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Really awful this beer. Thin and watery with a pale yellow color. Decent head at least. Flavor of cereals and fillers not much finish at all.
12oz bottle from the Edisto Pig. Clear yellow with a white head. Not much going on here. Some corn, hay. Fizzy carb. Very light, almost watery. This for cutting the grass or for beer-can chicken. jfb (6574) - GERMANY - SEP 18, 2017
(bottle) clear golden colour with a small frothy white head. aroma of chlorine and old cellars, with lots of straw and skunky hops, could be worse. flavour is mostly the same, old, oxidized and cardboardy, with some corn on the cob in the empty finish. light- to medium-bodied with average carbonation. jonas (7985) - Garching b. Almost every country in the world has its national standard pale lager, and this is the one from Nicaragua. Big cheers to Kathy for asking her granddaughter to bring home this generous 50 cc can from an internship in this central American country. Thinnish, snow white, lightly lacing head, unstable and dissolving almost immediately in the middle, over a cristal clear, pale straw blonde beer. Bland, simple and weak aroma of old popcorn, damp kitchen cloth, chicken food soaked in rainwater for days, gypsum, some iron, young grass shoots in spring, lots of sweaty and sourish graininess, plaster, sparkling mineral water, vague impression of juice oozing out of freshly cut green beans. Spritzy, neutral onset, thin sourish graininess as expected, ’green’ corn seeds, very minerally, sharp carbonation, accentuating the sourishness; slick, thin mouthfeel. Thin graininess continues in the middle, with a corn-like effect at its sides, but something very metallic as well. Ends more or less like it began: corn-like, very grainy, very thin and watery and very minerally, with only the most parsimonious dosage of grassy hops, providing a very vague and quickly fading grassy accent but no lasting bitterness at all - going down watery and thin, with a weird chalky note clinging to the root of the tongue. A very neutral and thin, very bland pale lager even within the global industrial standard, though admittedly this plaster- or chalk-like thing is a bit more outspoken than usual - though it would probably take years of exercise in nothing but uninteresting industrial beers like this to be able to recognize it as being typical for Toa - and on this very site, it should be explained to nobody that more interesting things are happening. Poor even for a standard pale lager, but I did not expect anything better than this and I assume that it quenches the thirst if consumed ice cold in scorching hot Nicaragua. Nice and unexpected country tick though, cheers again to Kathy! anders37 (26878) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUN 25, 2017

Pours a clear light yellow with a disappearing head. Nose is grain and faint hops. Middle was corn and soft grassy hops. Finish was watery and sweet. GIJOE (1250) - North Berwick, Maine, USA - MAY 24, 2017
Pours yellow with a thin, white head. Moderate lacing. Nose is skunky lager with heavy corn notes. Taste is like sweet corn with beer mixed in. No thanks. Not for me. Maybe if I’d just crawled out of the jungle and was very thirsty...
