2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a chestnut brown with ruby edges and a light toffe colored head. The nose has candied sugars and carmelized brown sugar with a light metal twang. Very water, light yeast note and some faint pear. The taste is heavily sugar based, carmelized brown sugar and candied sugars primarily with a touch of yeast, light nut and pear in the back. Watery in taste and in body, thin and low carbonation.
Brown beer with cream colored head, typical Belgium beer, drunk in a restaurant in Middelkerke PlasticSoul (103) - - APR 12, 2017
Bottle at P Cube, Trezzo sull’Adda. [I have only a rating for this beer but no review, because I couldn’t write a review when I tried this one. I am going to drink it again soon and write a proper review. However, I remember that it didn’t taste like a proper Abbey Dubbel, it was slightly funky and interesting.]
Relativt lätt, söt smakbild men ganska balanserad trots allt, brödig smak. Ok men ganska platt och endimensionell. llucmaduell (264) - barcelona, SPAIN - FEB 3, 2017
A beer that I thought would be very mediocre and gave me feeling better than I expected. Without being any wonder, is a beer that tries to follow the rules of a Belgian beer that stays in a third-level beer commercial without pretension but honest

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2017 Buena cerveza de abadía. Superior a la Blonde. Nunca diría que está al nivel de otras cervezas de abadía, más bien al contrario. Es una buena cerveza, pero no mucho más.
Aroma, sabor y paladar bueno. Buena cerveza sin muchas más pretensiones. droef (197) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 1, 2017
0,3 liter bottle. I was a bit disappointed. After tasting their great blond I thought the rest would be great too! It wasn’t... DijkBier (443) - AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - DEC 27, 2016
On draft in cafe in Gent. Very poor aroma. Taste if roasted malts and molasses, brown sugar; quite flat. Disappointing double. LittleWolf (11) - Cape Town, SOUTH AFRICA - DEC 10, 2016
Aroma: Oven roasted stone-fruit - a combination of fruity esters and a hint of fruit and roast from the malt. A little subdued. Some very feint marmite type character at first smell but dissipates quickly.
Appearance: Very dark mahogany in colour. Tan head that settles quite quickly into a ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
Taste: Like aroma, a little subdued. Some dark fruit character up-front, a clean, malty mid-palate with a watery finish. Surprisingly, a little after the watery finish the malty/fruity/sweetness comes back onto the palate for a longer/fuller finish. Flavour rounds out and softens as it warms.
Palate: Medium to full up-front. Some quite biting carbonation, which I think results in the watery mid-section. Fruity/sweet but not cloying finish.
Overall: A tasty beer that improves as it warms. Showing some age, although very slight considering it was bottled in Jan 2015.

A deep red beer with a fine head. The aroma is slightly sweet of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, roasted bread before it ends on a slight bitter note. A nice dubbel.
