Tongerlo Prior is a full-bodied beer with fruity notes that develop into a spicy and slightly flowery bitterness of hops. An authentic abbey ale, the age-old tradition of the White Canons of Tongerlo lives on in this officially recognised Belgian abbey ale. Re-fermentation in the bottle gives this beer a more intense taste and aroma as well as a longer shelf life. Tongerlo Prior was chosen as the best European blond abbey/trappist ale in the 2011 World Beer Awards.

Legere odeur de geuze. Bière qui ne sort pas du lot. On ne goûte pas l’alcool. Une Bière quelconque....

Ulysse (529) - Brussels, BELGIUM - NOV 4, 2014
Bubble gum aroma and taste. A tiny hint of lambic aroma. The average blond beer. Not much to say about it.

Pringao_Toribi (355) - Oviedo, SPAIN - OCT 26, 2014
In short: sweet and drinkable with a punch of liquor at the end. Aroma: bread and caramel, and a little yeasty. Taste: light and sweet, but nice (not watery or too weak) Palate: very surprising and enjoyable liquor finish.

langeveld12 (553) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 25, 2014
Head is average, frothy, white and slowly diminishing. Body is sparkling golden yellow. Aroma is typically tripel, moderate malts like hay, molasses and bread, light hips like citrus fruits and flowers and light yeasts like leather and also banana, vanilla, some forest fruits and spices. Flavor is light acidic, then sweet and light acidic and finally sweet and bitter. Body is medium with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Quite allright, not among the best. Misses complexity.

VDuquerroux (1685) - Airvault, Haut-Poitou, FRANCE - OCT 20, 2014
UPDATED: NOV 14, 2015 Bottle, 33cL. Home. A clear golden yellow beer ; bubbly ; medium white "omelet" head with a good retention. Herbs, flowers, roast, caramel, biscuit, prune. First, medium sweet, then medium dry bitter waves. Full body, medium texture, good carbonation (nearly fizzy), dry bitter finish with a light warming note. Overall, very good tripel beer !

culchiem (3978) - Berlin, GERMANY - OCT 16, 2014
Bottle in Hermans. Clean gold with a fluffy head. Aroma is peppery yeast. Tangy on the tongue. Sweet fruity flavour, a little metal on a tart bitter finish.
