COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tongerlo Prior is a full-bodied beer with fruity notes that develop into a spicy and slightly flowery bitterness of hops. An authentic abbey ale, the age-old tradition of the White Canons of Tongerlo lives on in this officially recognised Belgian abbey ale. Re-fermentation in the bottle gives this beer a more intense taste and aroma as well as a longer shelf life. Tongerlo Prior was chosen as the best European blond abbey/trappist ale in the 2011 World Beer Awards.

33 cl bottle at Rembrandt in Tongeren. Almost no aroma, it was really hard to figure out. Tasted like metal, some bitterness and sweet corn. Average beer but i'd drink it again. Lovely glass and on the plus side, the last amounts of beer in the bottle are poured in a seperate shot glass. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pantu 03/08/2016. BBE 03/02/2018. Kuulas kirkas lagerin väri, nopea niukka vaahto. Tuoksussa mietoa belgistrongin runkoa, kuivakka, suutuntuma hapan, hyökkäävä, mikrokuohuva, alkoholia tulee lievästi läpi, lievää raikkautta hapokkuuden myötä, silti aika vaisu ja tunkkainen tripel. Liian kuiva, ei makea.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2017 Clear, golden with white head. Aroma strong with lots of yeastines and spices. Taste well balanced along the same line and ends in sweet caramel and some bitterness. Very nice, not so well known tripel!

Pours clear golden, fizzing, with a lasting, foamy, off-white head (turning hazy when pouring the yeast sediment). The aroma contains hops & spices, yeast, fruits (apple, peach) and malt. It tastes medium to heavy sweet (not yet cloying); the fruitiness lingers into the light bitter, spicy finish. Medium body, oily/slick texture, fizzy to lively carbonation. A decent, nice Abbey Tripel, at least better than famous counterparts like Leffe or Grimbergen.

Clear orange brown color with tall white head. Aroma if malty, fruity and spicy. Taste is little bitter with sweet finish. Notes of caramel and spicies. Warming alcohol in the finish. Everything suites fine together and you get different taste experiences the more you taste the beer. It wasn't very interesting at first, but it got better and better. Very nice.
