Tooheys New White Stag delivers on the Tooheys New promise of flavour, refreshment and easy drinking. Using Munich malt for full flavour, and brewed longer to ferment out more of the natural sugars, leaving only one third of the carbs of standard full strength beers. Late hopping gives a slight hoppy aroma to balance the malt flavours.

Bottle enjoyed during a holiday in Australia. Backlog rating from bottle collection and historic scoring. Source not recorded. Tasting notes not kept, just rating.

Pale gold in colour with a white head. Light malt characters to smell and flavours of the same with a little bit of sweet guava. Almost no bitterness to speak of and no finish except for some endearing fluffiness. A bit of a ’bugger-all’ beer. Bugger all to remark about.

maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - DEC 24, 2012
A low calorie beer, say no more. Goes down pretty easy, comes up even easier. Good at the uni tavern!

jonnyguns (1108) - AUSTRALIA - DEC 23, 2012
Used to drink this at the uni tavern by the jug. Was pretty good for memory. Good beer to get wasted on and have a good time.

jdpeebs (698) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAY 19, 2012
bottle. For a low carb beer, it’s ok. A bit more malt flavour than compared to some of the others. Still an ordinary beer, but drinkable, just.

BarossaLuke (552) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 13, 2010
Yet another Aussie low-carb beer, this time from Tooheys. They’re all pretty much the same, targetted at the lowest common denominator. Thirst quenching, but so is water.

34.5 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow to orange with a small white head. Aroma is grassy and light malty. Sweet malt flavoured, light bitterness and malty flavoured into a smooth finish.

Clear golden with a tiny white head. Sweet malty aroma with hints of rubber and grains. Flavour like wise. Sweet finish.
