What you’d expect of a light lager from Australia. Corn sweetness, very watery, very crisp with high carbonation.

Stale aroma, slightly sweet. Clear golden colour with great head. Very little flavor up front with a slightly bitter finish. Light body with high carbonation.

From the can on the hill at Brookvale Oval while watching Manly-Warringah Seagulls play the Roosters so I can’t truly comment on the appearance but it’s your bog standard pale lager as far as everything else is concerned. Grain, corn, some mid-fruits and pithy, grassy hop characters on a light body that’s slightly thin with medium to full, drying carbonation. Negligible length to the finish so has inoffensive mass-market appeal: exactly the sort of thing you’d expect to be consumed in vast quantities at a rooogby league game.

Clear, golden color. Topped with a generous but quickly settling white head. Not much to the aroma. Some malts and perhaps slight grains. The taste similarly neutral, sweet start and a slight bitterness in the finish. Ice cold one is refreshing, but just another lager really.

Overly carbonated, lacking any real flavours, you know it’s bad if it has to be served ice cold.

From a can on a dive boat in the coral sea off the Australian coast. Crisp and clean. A decent pale lager and good way to end a day of diving.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldgelbes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht malzig, muffig, getreidig. Geschmack wässrig malzig, getreidig.

OLD NOTES OCT 9, 2003 Run of the mill tap beer in New South Wales. No idea why. Seriously rank skunky, metallic stuff, that is reminiscent of paint thinner when it reaches above 4°C. There’s a reason why they serve it at -1°C!

Pretty grim. Looks a lot better than it tastes, but that’s not saying much, believe me. Flavor a this beer is adjunct flavored grain with some generic sweet that wont go away. Not good. I feel a headache coming on. Weird body; almost feels like there’s glycerin in it. Stay away from this beer. :You’ll thank me.

Can, 0.375l. Clear pale golden color with medium frothy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of grainy malt, bread, grassy hops and some metallic notes. Taste starts with light sweet maltiness, follows sour grassy and bready with crisp and dry mouthfeel and light bitter finish. Light to medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. My first Aussie beer tried Down Under...
