2/4 bottle: Suprisingly strong saaz aroma?? Poured clear yellow-amber with a small bubbly short lasted head. Highly carbonated. Malty taste well bittered. Thin palate. Suprisingly good, though still has a slight astringent taste. Great views while tasting (Sydneys Skytower) Shimmer (9) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 22, 2003 does not count
Nice, better than the standard Tooheys. johninmelb (1127) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 10, 2002
It doesn’t completely suck, but you wonder if Lion Nathan, like CUB, actually know what ’Pils’ means - being as they are in the business of marketing beer more than making beer. Catadobe (112) - AUSTRALIA - DEC 8, 2002
Again Lion Nathan has pulled a nice brew from the pathetic excuse for a brewery they run. For the price it is a nice brew LoveABeer (141) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - AUG 18, 2002
This pils is light and refreshing, but still has that terrible Tooheys preservative chemical taste.

Probably the best thing that is brewed by Tooheys, but that isn’t saying much. Quite refreshing but still carries that distinctive Toohey’s hangover and dodgy preservative packed taste.

Fizzy, little flavour, refreshing cold. Not enough flavour to keep you interested. A very dummed down, mass market pilsener. winkle (478) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUN 9, 2002
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2004 Not too bad, at least it has some hop flavour, but as has been said, lacking in complexity.
Re-rate: I should had had more than one when rating.., Tooheys you need more than just some hop essence added at the last minute to make a decent pilsener. Try uping the IBU by around ten and adding some saaz hops for flavour, do that and you could rescue this beer. Send the money via this site thanks. Currently has a crap sweet boring finish. I have to say I was dissapointed in this - although I had already drunk alot when I had this. I was expecting something better and more complex. James Squire Pils beats it hands down. r0mULuS (7) - Windella, AUSTRALIA - MAY 4, 2002 does not count
Fantastic Australian pilsner brew. Even with its higher alcohol content, you cant taste it. Not overly bitter, no nasty after tastes. Sweet, but maybe lacking in its complexity. Overall, a great brew after a hard days work.
