Pours a perfectly pale color with a big head and nice lacing on the glass. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - APR 15, 2013
The aroma is mild, but pleasant... grassy and fruity... hop forward but somehow subtle.
The flavor is bitter with nice fruity hoppy notes, some of the hop character comes across a little like raw peletized hops though, the beer has only a touch of astringent character and a weird kind of club soda flavor. The beer is dry, and despite all my halfway negative descriptors is perfectly enjoyable... the grassy & fruity hop notes are really good, the dryness is spot on for what I need from a beer like this, & I genuinely enjoy this level of bitterness so long as it’s paired with other nice flavors (which in this case it is), but there are some rough edges to this beer that just don’t show up in most of the other Toppling Goliath hoppy beers.
Draft on tap at the 2013 Assassin Release (Decorah, IA). Pours a rich deep golden pour, darker rich honey glow with light haziness. Fiery summer sun with good glow, frothy brighter white head atop laces as a good film. Aromas are good Galaxy presence. Melon, white grape, and firm bitterness. Some grapefruit, florals, and grass. A touch of sweetness, the nose offers a dense hop nose. Green and rich. Initial is medium bodied, firm to stronger bitterness up front. Good grapefruit, florals, and mellow tropical fruit. White grape, weedy earthy elements. Firm bitterness, lots of melon, moving into a tropical and bready middle. Richer melange of fruit catches on, tropical and some pineapple. Firmer bitterness as we round the corner, fruity with a bit of bubblegum, tropical fruit, and citrus. Gentle white fuzzy peach, mellow bread. Firm bitterness and resiny hop character. Very green and fresh. Really dense bitter front end tapers off into a fruity yet quite drinkable beer. Really nice hop flavors, bitter slanted and fresh. Another tasty hoppy pale from TG. Aroma: heavy on the tropical fruit, lighter pine and resin notes, grapefruit and floral notes as well.
Appearance: mostly clear light golden pour, thick white head with good retention and dense lacing.
Taste: ripe tropical fruit and some citrus, light malts and a hint of toast, just a bit of malt sweetness to balance. Bitterness is very clean and well executed - it hits at the beginning of the taste and quickly fades to allow the hop flavors to shine.
Palate: light-medium body, medium carbonation.
Overall: really nice - great fruity hop flavors and just the right amount of bitterness and malt. GJF (1520) - Mount Vernon, Iowa, USA - DEC 30, 2011
Very nice. On tap at the Sanctuary. Hazy yellow, thick white head. Aroma and flavor are all about fresh, leafy hop. A resiny, piney beer with a citrus finish on it. Yes, leafy green hop flavor!

Hazy golden to orangish pour. Huge fruity hop aroma, some lemon zest. Flavor is more fruity hops, some house yeast (I get a similar flavor in every beer they do) and more rindy lemon. Finished bitter, good carbonation but maybe a bit too soft. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - DEC 8, 2011
Draft at Sanctuary. Poured a cloudy yellow orange color with a thin white head. Attractive fruity hop aroma that included the likes of passion fruit, melon, and grapefruit. Medium bodied and dryish with moderate bitterness. Pine, grapefruit zest, and pale malt flavors. Good stuff.
