650 mL bottle. Originally reviewed 5/25/2015. Hazy orange body without much of a head. Some lacing.
Smells of orange. Kinda fruity. Barely any malt.
Less bright orange flavors. Some toasty malt. Slight juicy fruitiness here, too. Hard to place. Moderate bitterness, but builds in intensity.
Medium light. Medium low carbonation.
Decent, but barely what I’d call good and not really the hop extravaganza I expect from TG. Homer321 (5255) - Melboring, Florida, USA - AUG 31, 2015
Bottle from a trade. Nose is moderate in orange and some tropical fruity mango with a light pine presence. Very cloudy orange color with a small white head. Marmalade and jelly as it warms. Taste is strikingly disappointing compared to aroma. Overall it just falls flat with a weak hop flavor that is peppermint and spearmint with a dusty, dirty flat malt backbone. Pepper tingle in the finish I the back of the throat. Probably a conbo of a little past its prime coupled with a lack of interest in the hops. BrewHaMeister (457) - Wisconsin, USA - AUG 24, 2015
Bomber bottle pours hazy amber with a two finger head and nice lacing. Aromas of citrus, light pine, mellon, and malt. Flavor is mild bitter but smooth. mathieuc (4000) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 6, 2015
Bomber shared by tom10101, thanks Tom! Not exactly sold on the "aged APA" concept...It pours a super hazy golden with a thin white head that leaves some lacing. Nose is of pine, resin with a light fruitiness. Taste is of fruits, leafy hops, pine and earrhy hops. Moderately bitter. Finish is pretty bitter and herbal, almost harsh. Body is medium, carbonation too. Overall this was pretty good for a stupid mistake, just don’t do it again OK? JulienHuxley (6000) - Sherbrooke, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 5, 2015
Bottle shared. Hazy pale gold pour with rich creamy white head. Aroma is quite interesting, mandarin, jujubes, quite fruity, light pine. Taste is lightly bitter, very orangey, light orange zest, light honey, light sweetness. Palate is med-light bodied with light carbonation. Decent, for a year old aged pale ale?

>>> Description is accurate, it tastes like an hoppy beer aged for a year... not bad, but far from great.
+ The malt backbone, which is very apparent because of the lack of aromatic hops, isn’t too heavy
− Not much aromatics hops
− Strange gummy bears presence
Flavors: Caramel, mild spiciness, gummy bears,
pours hazy golden with a small white cap offering some retention and lacing. mandarines-plenty, other citrus, spicy C’s or x-alike, spicy maltiness - lean, peppery pine, clean yeast. light carbonation, light body - oily; slightly harsh piney-citrusy finish. like an old pale ale. and like an experimental hop that should remain in this state. Cloudy orange with a short white head.
Pineapple, orange, lime aroma.
Taste is pineapple, orange malt, orange-peel bittering.
Very juicy....the aroma is incredible.....
Also, points for a nicely obscure "Hitchhikers Guide" reference in the description. shrubber85 (11762) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JUL 24, 2015
Bottle. Light orange caramel malt and grapefruit peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Sweet orange-lime malt and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. Nice body. AWISLguy (3481) - Wisconsin, USA - JUL 20, 2015
Bomber from Liquor Central in the Dells - shared with Eric. Excited to try one of these TG Xhops! Orangey pour. Fruity bitter hoppy. Passion fruit. Not as smooth as would have hoped. 13.9
