Taste: big herbal, grapefruit, citrus hops, earthy yeast notes, piney finish. Same for the nose. Golden honey color, unfiltered near end of bomber, large head of ringed lattice of lace. Medium/full body. ClarkVV (6839) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 16, 2016

Bright lemon-golden body is topped by a full, white head showing moderate to strong retention. High clarity.
Straightforward Nelson in the nose, but very nicely done, adding bright lemon, limestone, guava and wine-like minerality. It runs in to a lot of malt sweetness; big honey notes, with very light caramel and biscuity notes, as well. Some mild earthiness and no resin, thankfully, nor alcohol.
Very supple, malty body shows quite a bit of sugar still remaining. It’s not underattenuated, but certainly a lot sweeter than the New England IPAs I’m used to drinking (which, understandably, have to be a lot more dry to make up for the fact that they’re very low on IBUs). Anyways, the beer is still very nicely hopped with lots of wine character, lemon, cherry, strawberry and more limestone. Light earthiness and a touch of dry ash help soak up the malt. No alcohol or flaw.
22 ounce bottle from Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI, served fairly cold in a Guinness glass. Pours an immense frothy quite stable off-white head topping a very faintly hazy or oily dark gold - pale amber body...big aromas of sour or lightly sweet orange, a bit of mango, and after a couple of minutes some piney/resinous notes; also, interestingly, a touch of smoke (cigarette & wood ash)...body is moderately sweet, a bit acidic, with a citric character slightly reminiscent of Mountain Dew, quite juicy throughout, lightly yeasty...finish is only a bit drier, but definitely more bitter/hoppy with a hint of pepper and again that very subtle smoky note...body is full, lightly syrupy, with low to moderate carbonation, just a bit sticky. Another winner from TG in the hoppy department, though the stickiness and fullness of this one make it a little tough to have a go at a whole 22. o_Merlin_o (225) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 10, 2016
Pours a glowing honey color with a honey yellow head. Huge lacing. Sweet aroma. A little IPA souring but on the lighter side. A tad bit aqueous. Aftertaste is just sour. Not much flavor to back it up. rosenbergh (11760) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 24, 2016
Draught at the Toppling Goliath Brewing Co, Decorah, IA.
Hazy orange golden color with a small white head.
Tropical fruity hops, earth, stone, dryness, mild bitterness and malt in the aroma. The flavor is dry hops, stone fruit, dryness, earth and malt.

Bottle. CLoudy pale orange with head and lace. Looks like a nice hefe-weizen. Very orangey aroma with floral and spice. Very orangey and grass sweetness -- tastes a lot like fresh orange juice -- with nice dry orange floral finish with a touch of spice and sweet and sour sauce. Medium light body but very pulpy. It’s a great tasting beer but these Nelson beers needs some tempering. They taste too much like orange juice. ctipping (2202) - Florida, USA - JUL 28, 2016
650 mL bottle. Originally reviewed 2/6/2014.
Clear golden orange. Small, but well retained white head. Nice lacing. Great surface wisps as the head settles.
Smell is really herbal and dank. Grapefruit citrus. Cracker malts, with some deeper roasted caramel and toasty malts.
Herbal flavor strong up front. Grassier in the flavor. Grapefruit. Toasty malts push through. A hint of sweetness. More of an earthy finish than a bitter finish. Slightly musty back there.
Heavier than I expected. A little chewy for an IPA. Mild bitterness.
Excellent Nelson character. All aspects of the hop shine through. emusche (209) - Wisconsin, USA - JUL 8, 2016
Pours copper with an ivory head; very sticky. Nose is very dank; grapefruit, burnt popcorn, mango, pine, a little hint of earthiness. Taste is a citrus bomb, bursting with pineapple, grapefruit, tropical fruit upfront, followed by that satisfying hoppy bitter pine at swallow. Love it. ozzy70 (1264) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JUN 23, 2016
Sample at Omaha Beer Fest, Stinson Park. 6-11-16. Bottle. Pours cloudy orange, white head. Aroma of grapefruit, lemon, topical fruits. Taste was sweeter, citrus, orange and grapefruit rind.
