350 ml can bought at Aeon Style in Whampoa Garden, Hung Hom.

Clear Piss golden colour; Three-quarter finger head with soapy white foam which lasts for 1 minute; Very good sticky lacing with active slight carbonation; Sweet smell of light malt, with apple cider, paper glue, icing sugar, floral, thin lemon and light grass; Close to medium sweet taste of light malt, with shades of bubblegum and candi sugar, light grain spirits, chemical, floral, light molasses, biscuits, lemon, fair bitter hops and light grass; Light body. Watery palate; Mouth feel is light maltyness in a watery background. There is a strange and intriguing feel of Belgian Dark here, with shades of candi sugar and bubblegum linger on, crashed with underlying grain spirit. Light floral and fair sweetness, biscuit with fair lemon to round. Okay but strange… Hoppiness is floral, thin lemon and light grass in nose and taste; Bitterness is light for an abrupt, low astringent sweet-grain spirit finish; Quite dry after taste. Light bitter to mouth.

Comments: This one smell pretty chemy and artificial but its taste is, strangely in the shadow of Belgian Dark / Dubbel, an unexpectedly nice touch coupled with very light grain spirits which make it pretty drinkable for a Happoshu, just as long as you hold your nose!

Can. A dark golden beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of malt, fruit, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and cardboard, leading to a dry finish.

Sweet malt liquor with soda and hints of apple, fairly sticky finish. Not too awful, i guess that’s half decent for 88 yen

maekchu (4054) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JAN 16, 2015
Can from Kumiyama AEON Mall supermarket. Light sourish fruit nose, with a bit of sewer. Medium straw color, thin head. Moderate sweetness, gets tangy in mid, with some cardboard emerging. Lighty harshness -- not too bad. Spritis are clear in mid and final. Thin body. Pretty bad.
