Tap (from notes). Copper/amber color pour, nice carbonation and lacing with a rich malty and metallic aroma. Flavor is malty, spicy and peppery warm on the finish. A good, rich hearty winter beer. Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JAN 8, 2010
Growler, courtesy 4.4-40. The pour yields a clear, dark, bronzy-copper colored body with a small, foamy tan head that fades. Sudsy lacing mostly rejoins the body, leaving just some scant, wet flares behind. The aroma is based in smooth, nutty caramel malt, with notes of candied walnuts, hazelnuts, and some clean, dark grain. Flavors are again very nutty and caramelly, with notes of roasted marshmallow and a touch of earthy, peppery hoppiness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied, smooth, and appropriately a little sugary. It’s very much a traditional alt, through and through, and a very well done one at that. Good stuff. arminjewell (9675) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 30, 2009
Pours deep amber with off white head, aroma is hoppy with bready malt in the background. Taste is nice and hoppy up front with a mix of caramel and bready malt at the end that bitters fairly well. Seems like a tamed down barley wine style, and works well! dchmela (3064) - Orlando, Florida, USA - DEC 23, 2009
Growler courtesy the fastest man in Otown, 4.4 40! Pours a nice deep red pour with thick head. Creamy, slightly smoky aroma. Taste is smooth roasted touch of cararmel and toffee. Solid brew. jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - DEC 12, 2009

Growler… Clear, beautiful copper ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The faint aroma offers nice, but subtle, biscuit and toffee notes. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. The flavor provides some tasty caramel and toffee malts - even a hint of chocolate – alongside moderate to medium bitterness. Crisp, dry finish. Growler courtesy of GoT/4.4-40! Growler courtesy 4.4-40. Brown, off white carbonation. Solid alt with plenty of nice toasty, graham cracker, cookie, toffee malt. I’d like a bit more hop presence and dryness on the end, but it’s still very good, very easy to drink. Medium body, balanced. redlight (2318) - Orlando, Florida, USA - DEC 10, 2009
growler shared by godofthunder. Noble hops on the nose with caramelly malts. Pours amber with a solid white head. Very smooth caramelly flavors traces of molasses with spicy hops. Very nice Altbier!
