Growler at Maltzillas World Cup 2010 tasting. Pours golden orange color with off white head. Fruity and woody aroma. Moderately sweet flavor with tropical fruits, wood and some alcohol. the flavors come together in a weird way that just doesn’t work well for me. Medium body with moderate carbonation. juiceisloose (1492) - Windermere, Florida, USA - MAY 28, 2010
Growler, courtesy GoT. Wine barrel aged version. This one poured a dark reddish orange color topped by a small, thin film of tan colored head. The aroma seems a bit off from the start with some funky barrel notes and a hint of plastic. There is a strange fruit cocktail component of cherries, pears, and vinuous red grapes to go with some added sweetness from caramel and toffee malts. The flavor shows a good bit more hops than the nose let on with notes of bitter orange and grapefruit to go with a heft dose of sweet vanilla from the barrel. There was still something off with the flavor as well. Medium bodied and finely carbonated that leads to a lengthy bitter and dry finish. From looking at the other ratings I think this growler may have been infected. MeadMe (1662) - Fishhawk, Florida, USA - MAY 27, 2010
Ratebeer winter gathering care of JW77.
A: Pours an orangish hue with a nice tall white head. Okay retention with some lace.
S: Aromas of sweet yet acidic tropical fruit. Lightly woody with hints of caramel.
T: Very sweet tropical fruit. Hints of bitter acidic citrus as well. The wood is there along with hints of spice and candy sweetness.
M: On the fuller side of medium in body, bold, rich. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 13, 2010
This poured a darker orange color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was very odd, red grapes, bittering hops, alcohol, and caramel. Flavor was an off flavor of cheap wine and adjunct beer mixed together to form a super alcohol cocktail for college parties. Blah. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - APR 4, 2010
Thanks to jw77 for sharing this one. Pours yellow-orange with a white head. Nose is malt, vinous fruit, depth, complexity, and some tartness. Flavor is similar with lots of fruit blending and vinous qualities. Interesting beer.

Tropical fruit, grapefruit skins, citrus, honey notes as well. Melons and generic fruity notes as well as vanilla. Wonderful nose. Golden amber thin foam ring around the edges. Fruity flavors through the whole beer - lots of grapefruit and tropical fruits, chewy citrus skins, vanilla, honey, melons, some alcohol. Juicy fruit and alcohol finish. Nice carbonation. A pleasure to drink. scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - MAR 25, 2010
Thanks after4ever! crash wild blueberry aroma, hot with intensity, not heat. soft pale brown. strong tannic wood, biting and fierce. Raw alcohol, magic marker, dirty herbal alcohol. tasty though confusing bvc (1242) - Washington, USA - MAR 25, 2010
12oz hand bottle, thanks Tom! Very clear and bright dark golden with a tight off white head. Very sharp and bright spruce, fruity resin. Apricot, white grapes, tender sweet spruce tips, citrus zest. The flavor isn’t quite as sweet and fruity as the nose. More of the spruce with bitter lemon zest and pine that almost as a citrus cleaner aroma like taste to it. A bit to bitter and abbrasive for me, but really enjoyed the nose. Thanks Tom for sharring all the cool Town Hall bottles! after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - MAR 25, 2010
12 oz. thanks tyler! pours crystal clear medium amber, no head or lace. crazy nose of vinous tartness blended with grapefruit hop aromatics. creamy medium body, fairly still. tart and tangy wine grapes and grapefruit with a bit of toasty caramel underneath. mild, pleasant citric finish. very refreshing and drinkable. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 16, 2010
Orange pour. Wow citrus, honey, wood, light booze, fruit and some spice in the aroma. Flavor is sweet and spicy...citrus, wood, yeast. Good and really unique.
