RBWG’10 cheers to JW77
Pours amber, thin off-white head.
Aroma, fruity, some white grape and light vanilla
Flavors, similar to aroma, some white grapes, light butterscotch mouthfeel, apple flavors, bittersweet finish, medium wood barrel with a nice mix of vanilla.
Finish is rather thick and syrupy. daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 16, 2010
Amber pour. Off white head. Dates, vanilla, sweet yeast, honey, oak and golden raisins both in the aroma and flavor. I really like the dried fruit and sweet spicy note of this one. Town Hall kicks ass. arminjewell (9584) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 30, 2009
Usually not the biggest fan of Grand Crus, this one was awesome. Pours deep amber with off white head, smell is spicy and sugary. Taste up front is vanilla and oak that leads into a candy like sweetness that coats the mouth with a syrup like consistency. kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2007

The aromas on the were a sweet blend of orange liquor and mulling spices but I think this had gone a little flat as the flavors were a bit muddled. robertsreality (2460) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 13, 2005
Dark Amber Coloring with Offwhite Head. Roasted Coconut Aroma. Strong Enough in Mouthfeel to Have a Syrapy Texture to it. Fruity, Warming, Sweet...Candy Sugar. Overall a Strong, Sweet and Seductive Grand Cru. The Barrell Does Wonderful Things with This Brew. Perhaps the Best Brew of Anniversary Week. Nuffield (4167) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - OCT 31, 2005
Beautiful aroma. Through the smelling and drinking I experienced notes of raisin, plum, sake, lemon, celery, licorice, anise, and perhaps a touch of bourbon (I don’t think it’s the aging that gives me this note), and the alcohol was well under control. Smooth but somewhat tingling with carbonation, almost sharp. Clear amber, some clinging head, off-white in color. Really good, though the palate let it down just a bit. 8th anniversary release. Sweet, tropical fruit (passion fruit) nots in the nose. Lovely, unique. Amber body with no visible carbonation. Nice lace. Sophisticated and elegant. Passion fruit comes through in the flavor. Strong alcohol profile that is not hidden at all. Some banana. A very solid brew. JK (6090) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - OCT 29, 2005
Not what it might have been, but still a very good beer. Light brown color and nearly still. Some cherry in the aroma, along with light malt. Strange flavor that can only be described as lemongrass, more sweet malt, some Belgian yeast and a little sourness at the end.
