Growler… Clear, burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. The nose is of caramel, raw oak and vanilla with just a trace of bourbon. Full-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. Moderately sweet, caramelly flavor with a nudge of bourbon and a suggestion of oak. Finishes lightly sweet with a slow fade. Amber pour. Off white head. Dates, vanilla, sweet yeast, honey, oak and golden raisins both in the aroma and flavor. I really like the dried fruit and sweet spicy note of this one. Town Hall kicks ass. kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2007

RBWG’10 cheers to JW77
Pours amber, thin off-white head.
Aroma, fruity, some white grape and light vanilla
Flavors, similar to aroma, some white grapes, light butterscotch mouthfeel, apple flavors, bittersweet finish, medium wood barrel with a nice mix of vanilla.
Finish is rather thick and syrupy. arminjewell (9584) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 30, 2009
Usually not the biggest fan of Grand Crus, this one was awesome. Pours deep amber with off white head, smell is spicy and sugary. Taste up front is vanilla and oak that leads into a candy like sweetness that coats the mouth with a syrup like consistency.

Definite honey on the nose, dusty yeast, spicy belgian sweetness, some mead-y notes as well as some oranges and sweet fruity notes also - as it warms the nose becomes very harmonious. Works well with base beer. Amber brown pour, white foamy ring around the edges. Lots of honey wine mead flavors up front and throughout with spicy sweet belgian yeast sweetness - banana, spice, light dusty notes candi sugars and sweet orange as well. Very balanced with only light tangy alcohol. Solid carbonation. Nice. JK (6090) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - OCT 29, 2005
Not what it might have been, but still a very good beer. Light brown color and nearly still. Some cherry in the aroma, along with light malt. Strange flavor that can only be described as lemongrass, more sweet malt, some Belgian yeast and a little sourness at the end. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - OCT 28, 2010
Thanks to JW77 for the share. Adding some extra notes from RBWG 2010. Pours brown with an off-white head. Nose is malt, vanilla, maple, sweetness, and slight yeast. Flavor is similar with a ton of sweetness. Very enjoyable blend of beer and barrel. badgerben (5119) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - OCT 29, 2005
Town Hall 8th Anniversary, Saturday release: Dark copper color with no head. Strong aroma of candi sugar. Holy crikey... the flavors just roll out of the glass. Vanilla from the barrel and though I didn’t notice the honey, something similar and it struck me as Calvados. More sugar and sweet malt with an orange finish. Alcohol was apparent, but not overpowering. I think this stole the show for the Anniversary week.
