Bottle thanks to Brian. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has lots of vanilla and coconut witha backing earthy pine and grass note. Flavor has lots of coconut and vanilla with more of an earthy grass note and only a hint of pine.

Tap at Town Hall. Dirty orange pour with a small soapy head. Aroma and taste of whiskey and citrus hops. Very interesting and good.

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2012 Bottle… WPB Town Hall Meeting 2012… Hazy golden ale with a small, wispy, off-white head. Fantastic retention. The bouquet is a decadent, earthy mélange of coconut, caramel, white wine and raw American oak. Medium-bodied and raspy with prickly carbonation. The moderately bitter flavor is boozy, hot, acrid and a touch acidic. Finishes much the same – boozy-hot, astringent, and then dry. Kudos to landhoney and newcigarz for making this meeting possible!

Rich, deep gold pour, white head. Loads of bourbon, sweet toffee, hops, oak, honey in the nose This drinks like a nice sweet and hoppy barrel aged barelywine. Tons of vanilla, toffee, oak, sweet hop flavors....I really like this a lot.

2012-08-18. Dark orange body is lightly hazy wit a small beige head. 3+ Modest aroma, lightly alcoholic, sweet woody oak has an interesting quality to it. 7++ flavour is wood dominant, sweet oak then finishes drier, mild caramel malt 6+ Average plus bodied palate. Not bad, it has some interesting aspects to it but the wood is quite dominant. Bottle, Campground Brewdown 2012 shared by dmac

Bottle @ Papsø. Hazy, orange appearance with an off white head. Tropical fruity, mango, pineapple, sweet toffee, light wood, mild whiskey aroma with a little mild booziness. Delicious rich toffee, chewy caramel, rich malty, delicious mango, tangerine fruity, moderately boozy whiskey flavor. Somewhat boozy but the fruity, hop notes are still there nicely.

[4720-20120818] Bottle. Sour yeast herbal straw aroma. Hazy, amber orange body with a quick creamy off-white head. Sweet caramel malt flavour has a long sweet roasted malt aftertaste. Medium-full body. Tasty. (7/3/8-3/15) 3.6

Courtesy of dcschiller. It pours clear copper with tan head. The aroma is very barleywine like with muted pine hops rolling into sticky malts, vanilla and then bourbon like booze. The taste is nice with pine hops softened up by vanilla and molasses sweetness and then rolling slowly toward a moderate level of smooth bourbon booze. Lovin’ this! Thanks Dave.

Sampled at Kramer’s Campground Brewdown 2012. Pours a hazy amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is sweet malts, light booze and other than that straightforward. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of fruity caramel malts, light spice and alcohol. Overall, a bit boozy and pretty plain.

750 ml bottle shared by Derek. Thanks, bud! Pours a rich well hazed amber brown pour, touches of orange amber glow on the edges and body. A frothy offwhite head dies to a good layer, laces ok. Sticks around fairly well. Aromas are a firm barrel presence, with coconut and oak, gentle spirit, a richer vanilla influx. Touches of toffee, more coconut, touches of dry florals, mellow sweet sticky malts. Initial is medium bodied offering some firm spirit, bourbon, and vanilla. Shaved and toasted coconut, barrel presence, oak, and toffee. Toasty malts, biscuits, and more vanilla. Touches of dry deadened hops. More barrel, sweeter malts, good barrel flavor. Richer vanilla, oak, toasted coconut really dominate overall. Priviledge to try, the barrel really brings some assertive flavors to the fold. Nothing offensive and a solid example of displaying barrel in a beer for sure.
